I was hoping you would cover just how effective it is at removing dust. This may be a stupid question as I am not really well versed in diy projects, but does this device work on dust that has settled on surfaces? Would you use such a device indoor to keep the house dust free, or at least to significantly reduce dust indoors. I too live in a desert and it is a major pain to consistently have to dust so frequently even though the house is clean. Thanks

You would need something to move the dust since when dust settles it isn't going to move. Use like compressed air or something to dislodge it and then hopefully there is enough air movement to move it and then make it's way to the filter.

OK, I'm gonna be that guy. Studs are in walls, not ceilings. Rafters hold up the roof surface, on a slope. Ceilings have JOISTS. And if it's a trussed roof system (common in newer homes now), then the bottom horizontal member is the chord, which are typically installed with 24" spacing. And I'm pretty sure those anchors are wedge-style for hanging from a masonry ceiling, not drywall anchors.
