I took a look at the instructions for my Curt hitch and went straight to a trailer shop for a professional installation. Cost me $250 because I bought the hitch on Amazon instead of from the shop. Still, worth it to get the job done right the first time. And I didn't have to lay on my back for at least 4 hours making mistakes till I figured it out.

Many moons ago I had a hitch installed by U-Haul, wow was that a mistake. It's nice these days for modern cars, electronics are plug and play and just a few key strokes away. I have Curts on my Liberty's and they are holding up well.

Austin when you have close quarters like that with captured bolts its hard to start the nuts because the bolts want to move are turn , take a long flat head screwdriver and put pressure on the bolt till you have the nuts started good .

Any chance can you tell me the clearance of top of the hitch to the bottom of the door ? I want to put a Wilco spare tire carrier and I need 7 inch clearance
