I've got the Lowrance Tripleshot 7x and have the transducer that came with it mounted to the transom of my boat but I want one on my trolling motor also. My question is do I have to buy another Tripleshot 7x transducer or would this HDI Skimmer or another type work to have one on my trolling motor? Anybody know?

Bread tie is a good idea, but the wire will rust. Using a small zip tie works better. You can find them on the internet or Bass Pro Lowrance Manufacturer model #: 000-10978-001 / SKU: 1958542

You can also feed it back into the mount

I just got the adapter and noticed on the instructions the wire side is facing the prop, opposite the way you did it, which is the correct way?

In deed this is installing backwards, but you can select "Flip Left/Right" in the menu to correct.

Great video. I recently purchased the Lowrance Hook 5 with the HDI 83/200-455/800 KHZ transducer. Can you tell me what mount it is you used in the video? That looks to be the mount I need but I cannot find it anywhere. Thanks

The HDI will work with the HDS series of Lowrance products. Elite uses a TotalScan transducer.

Brad, does it matter if the cable is in the front or the back of the trolling on the HDI and 3-1 transducers.

It doesn't matter. Traditional sonar is not directional like side imaging.

Was very surprised that this was plastic when in arrived in the mail. Thought is was metal. What was Lowrance thinking? That thing won't last me one season.

So far the plastic housing for the transducer is holding up. I'm sure a metal one would last longer. The transducer with numerous hours is still working.
