That feeder looked the same in the 50s, built heavy duty like steam traps.Nice job!

Loving it bruh. I'm an oil tech down here in Central PA. Didn't know there was oil up in the big city. Keep the good work up man. Oil guys are a dying breed.

Lol thank you, hey then you’d be surprised how many oil burners there actually are in NYC! I did a big job on Wall Street ,dual fuel , ran oil for about 2 years while we got the gas situated.The set up is (2) two weishaupt dual fuel burners on (2) two Burnham 1109’s ,about 15 GPH each. About 1729 MBH output. Built a whole new boiler room on the second floor of a 26 story office building. Wish I would’ve gotten that on video lol. I still service them. But yeah there’s a lot of oil still out here. Oil guys are a dying breed. Thank you for watching I have alot more coming.

Mikey pipes Daniel dosen't like you he told me that's not even a steam boiler. But anyway. Thanks for posting real installs. In stead of wall hung junk
@lordgilby2 жыл бұрын
If it hangs on the wall it ain't a boiler, it's a water heater. That's how I feel about it.

Why not install a normal sight glass and install a 247?

A normal sight glass is going to tell you the water height as it stands. A 47-2 connected to the sight glass is going to show you alot more. Once I hit that drain on the 47-2 it’s going to show me the water quality in the boiler. Once you see the brown water erupt you know your boiler water is getting muddy.

Nice job I appreciate this video. I have the same valve and it must be stuck. Is there anyway to change the float switch inside?
@anthonyarealgoodplumber10 ай бұрын
Hey , so… there is a way to change a float switch and a switch float… I know I know… let me explain. A 47/2 works on a float = electrical connection. If the float itself is low it cuts the power to your boiler for safety purposes. So your boiler doesn’t fire with no water. The float switch is the part of the 47/2 with the electric connection going to it. The switch float is the actual ball c*ck inside the housing that floats with the water level as it rises it shuts a water valve and as it lowers it opens a water valve to feed the boiler. It’s recommended to flush them once a week during heating season. Ok now back to your situation. You can change either of them. Shut the boiler off and the water feed into the boiler. Get yourself some Allen keys and unhouse the body. Flush it with water and set them back in. The float was only stuck because you either didn’t drain a bucket a week, or your return is in bad shape. Only judge your glass gauge for bouncing water level. Not how clean you system is.

That 47 will outlast the boiler if it’s well maintained! Rebuild if it muds.

Anthony, thanks for sharing! Is this LWCO somehow more reliable than a modern probe type? why is it used instead of a probe type and an electronic water feeder?
@anthonyarealgoodplumber2 жыл бұрын
Good question, so I prefer the mechanical lwco/water feeder because it stays true, meaning it’ll only add when really needed and only add as much needed. I know with the electronic feeders you can adjust the dip switches to fine tune the water added but it’s just not the same. Also I like that I’m able to blow down and flush the body of the float, not only does that show me what’s going on inside the boiler but it’s also good to flush that water before it gets muddy, I know electronic lwco’s claim to have self cleaning probes but there’s really no way of telling unless you pull it from the boiler or if something goes wrong. On this boiler I also have another mechanical lwco but lower and it’s a manual. So if the 47-2 ever gives I have a safety back up that requires you to look at the boiler instead of just resetting itself. Thank you for watching a commenting!

Hello, Don't you need a #67 LWC as well or only a 47 too? Thank you.
@anthonyarealgoodplumber Жыл бұрын
A 67 and 47/2 are very similar as they’re both a low water cutoff and water feeder. The difference is the 47/2 is a mechanical version. So you wouldn’t need a 67 and I’d prefer a 47/2. All mechanical water feeder instead.

Thanks for the tip on the audio. also it’s only half inch fittings ,not only do I install these boilers but I also do the maintenance and I haven’t had any problems yet. Now I wouldn’t do that on the larger pipe! Lol thanks for watching and commenting.

@@anthonyarealgoodplumber nice what tape are you using? What size does a guy need to start adding dope?
@anthonyarealgoodplumber2 жыл бұрын
@@andregagnon7044from my experience I feel anything 1 1/4 and over connecting to the boiler itself, I use single string wick with ptfe paste.
