So cool to see you working on the roof, with great music and the clouds rolling by! I like how you shared that this space is similar to where you lived in college - so cool! Thanks for bringing us along! 😊

Thanks for showing how to fix the unequaled roof

Thanks for being here. This roof is a 4/12 pitch I am scrambling on. I was thinking of your 10/12, 12/12 challenge you have ahead of you. If you were to deck rather than purlin it might be your personal Everest.

Gotta love love insulation. Always good to get the roof on. Better doing roofing on hot days than rainy days

@@ModernMountainLiving the slide is fun. The landing leaves a little to be desired

As someone that doesn't do it professionally, I've only used a circular saw with a backwards blade. Man those sheers would have been nice!

Yes, I have made the sparks fly many times too. Glad we are both here to laugh about it. Thanks

when you say insulation under the office floor, is that foam already installed sub-slab and only in that area? or are you stacking it above the slab with flooring above that? interesting build, would love to know how to get those wall panels in oregon
@ModernMountainLiving Жыл бұрын
Kev, rigid foam under office slab. I have built with several different SIPs companies, these are KingSpan. I can talk SIPs for days. What is your application?
@kev5782 Жыл бұрын
Planning something similar sized to what you’re building there, a pole building shop with small attached living quarters. A video on the expense of those commercial sip panels and how an owner-builder might source them would probably do well here. Post-frame/pole barn mixed-use shops seems like a popular theme. Thanks for posting, look forward to watching you guys divide up the interior.

I recommend your slab size be increased to support the thickness of the panels you choose outside of the structure size. @@kev5782

Great job for a poor quality kit. I like the idea of using the SIPS for the walls, could have used them for the roof also. What state do you live in? Ron USCG RET

Ron, don't tell anyone but those stacks of 6" R42 SIPs in the background are for the roof of an upcoming project. I started building with SIPs in Roswell NM 17 years ago, Colorado, Utah, Idaho mostly Mountain states. Do you want to see more SIPs build vids? Thanks

Thank you but my sister and I built a home totally out of SIPS back in 1980@@ModernMountainLiving

The furnace very seldom came on in the western panhandle of Maryland at an elevation above 1300 feet. and the house was very warm. And in the summer open a few windows for a breeze very comfortable. And to this day the house is still in excellent condition. Ron@@ModernMountainLiving

If I were in Texas that would be great but here in the Mountains the whole year revolves around white stuff and negative temp. Not the kind you hire short term with a bad attitude.
