For best results with flares always use a torque wrench, and do up to the manufacturer specifications. Pressure testing the pipe work you installed with OF nitrogen and checking the joints with bubble leak detector is a key step missed! especially if you don’t have certification to buy the gas that you may loose if it starts leaking once you have released the refrigerant! People skipping steps is what gives these units a bad name!

No, I think it's better to have the flares outside. Torquing flares, remaking a flare if needed, are much easier when they are ouside, not under a minisplit head you have to prop up and limit your access space. Also, if your insulation around the flares isn't perfect, you may get water leaks from condensation.

Hey not judging your work. Good installation. But just a question. Do you pressures test the unit and vacuum with a micron gauge on. I do all this before opening the valves and releasing the refrigerant in the system. Its a good practice.

The hole that clown drilled in the wall is not covered on the inside. How hard would it have been to drill that hole in the right spot?
