Thanks for sharing your install. I took a totally different approach. Rather than replace the mechanical vacuum pump with an electric pump I simply installed an electric pump (to act as a primer) between the fuel tank outlet and the existing OEM mechanical vacuum pump. I’ve never had issues with the OEM vacuum pump once the engine is running. Only problem is starting if the Rhino has sat for more than several days without being run. I operate the electrical primer pump with a spring loaded toggle switch which provides electrical power directly from the battery to the newly installed electric primer pump. Simple wiring job. A friend of mine took yet another different approach and he installed a check valve in the fuel tank outlet line between the tank and the mechanical vacuum pump that helps to keep fuel in the line and the pump primed even after sitting for extended periods. It’s very effective but not 100i% since even a check valve has some amount of leakage / blow-by. But with the valve he installed, it takes every bit of a month or more before the primer fuel has leaked past the check valve back into the fuel tank

I think I have this issue. I can’t get gas to my carb. It must be the Vacuum pump correct? Should I get rid of the Vacuum pump and install the Mr. Gasket fuel pump? And wire it to the ignition? I don’t think it is the carb being dirty. I have this issue every time it sits for a month without starting.

I teed in an electric fuel pump on my Rhine 660 as with only the vacuum pump it would take over five crank attempt before it would start when cold. I have it switched on the dash and when I want to start the engine, I just flick the switch and with just a touch of the key, it starts instantly. After I've run for a bit, I turn the electric pump off and only use the vacuum pump. I now have a back up fuel pump if needed and don't have to worry about killing the battery. What a relief, I should have done this years ago! 😀

Bought the same as you, works well... especially do not forget to block the vaccum which was acting the old pump, it turns too rich in oxygen otherwise

How did you do the Tee return for over flow pressure, didn't it just pass gas to the path of least resistance?
@cecilarnold68432 жыл бұрын
I installed this fuel pump with the tee so it routes it back to the tank. The problem is this is a push type pump. Mine worked for about a week. It says in the instructions it’s not made to pull fuel & needs to be mounted under the tank for gravity flow.

First thanks to everyone who gave advice on the electric fuel pump issue.I moved the electric pump on the frame and got rid of the return line.It would not start with the return line hooked up.I plugged the return on the gas tank and it popped right off.Some say you need the return line in this case you don’t.

I saw that you're leaking around the pump at 2:20 when you turned it on.

Hi, could you do a video or tell us how to hook up the electric is it just the red and the black wires? Or is there something else that goes to the fuse box want to know how to tie this to the ignition switch? Thank you.

Does rhe return have to be smaller to create a little back pressire in the lines? Otherwise it seems like thre path of least resistance would just be back into thr tank.

Hello. I installed an electric pump as in your video example, after a while the oil level in the engine rose, gasoline got in. I started the engine in the winter without enrichment, so the engine did not start right away. Where to look for the cause of gasoline getting into the engine? .. Can the carburetor become clogged and be the cause of this? Thank you.

Got question I'm second owner of mine & other owner put one in and it starves for fuel bad when gets 1/2tank also bottom of carb the hose fuel just leaks out when running any suggestions?

I am having issues with my Rhino getting gas. Is it most likely because of the Vacuum pump? I hear it might be. I see you still installed a new one. Do you need it if you have the Mr. Gasket fuel pump?

Get a relay (one good for 20amps) and wire it into the ignition and that way you dont need the switch on the dash.

I am curious how long or when you leave the pump on? Do you turn it off after it starts up or let it go while running? Sorry to be so dumb!
@dell67034 жыл бұрын
You must leave it on or else it will shut off. I recommend you buy an extra just incase it burns out

Mike, My 660 coughs and pukes a lot and backfires through the carburetor, I've often thought it was a fuel issue. Did you have any of these issues and the electric pump help?
@Adub864 жыл бұрын

I see that you have modified the air intake, or was that done before you got he machine? I tried a few different ways so that the filter would not have to be cleaned ( due to so much dust in the cab) after every ride. Bike ran like crap. I see yours is very smooth, I thought that the hose I was using was flex and did not contribute to smooth flowing air. Any idea where you can pick up the adaptor tubing? How does it fit through the engine cover?
