installing a new drop axle on a 379 peterbilt

That's a shop to die for....nice vid.....I would appreciate knowing how the axle helps the truck turn. Maybe an explanation of how you hooked up the air lines what controls what. Looks like you had some good help on that job.

A steer vs a straight axle is day and night as far as easy of turning it’s not as hard on the tires the frame doesn’t flex as much. The only bad is if u wanted to back up u have to raise the steer axles a straight u can leave down and sometimes in softer dirt it helps. All the main controls were already ran I just put new lines from what was already there.

where did you find that used lift axle?? question is it easier to install a lift axle on a 2 axle straight box truck or convert a 3 axle truck into a lift axle?

Found the axle at a salvage.probably won’t matter because you’ll have to drill all the holes anyway as long as there’s enough space for it to fit

I don’t think there is any u just have to square it off of holes or brackets and make sure there’s enough clearance for the tires or tanks

Hello, I need help please, Someone install steerable drop axle on my truck. When I test ride, the drop axle keeps turning right and makes the ride unstable. What can be the problem?

When u have the axle up can u turn it easily left to right if so u need new shocks. If when the axle is up it automatically turns right one of the shocks is broke.

Im having trouble with my drop axle air bags are too full n stiff makes the truck shake how do i get the bags to breath when the road is uneven or potholes hills do i need a valve or something ext?

It’s not the bags u need new shocks on your drop axle!!! I have to replace them about once a year
