What’s the big difference with a parts warsher? Is it for workshops without hot running water? I get that it’s convenient, but I never understood the value for money, maybe because I have access to hot water: a little plastic tub and a few brushes will do me fine.
@zzzires5045

@mm9773 think chemical bath thats contained not just soapy water. Old school shops ran kerosene which is amazing at stripping grease and oil
@mm9773
@mm9773 9 ай бұрын
@@zzzires5045 Sure, but a regular parts warsher is not a chemical bath. And a plastic tub with whatever stuff in it is also contained. The difference is that your parts are not swimming in a big puddle of murky water, and I understand that it’s convenient - I just don’t see that it cleans better: the standard brush at the end of the hose is definitely a compromise, the whole thing takes up space and uses a bunch of energy - but how clean your parts will be depends on different things: it depends on what substances you use and how thoroughly you brush them. If you clean parts all day long in a commercial environment, then yes - I would want some kind of system. But in a home workshop? Don’t really see the point.

If your excavator does not have a second/fast gear, both hoses you tested are used for case drain. This hydromotor (TM03A) has a second gear option. However, in this model of the excavator it is not used and in order not to complicate the bypass, a second cable was made in the final drive to replace the bypass. Generally, this final drive fits many excavator models, not only Yanmar. Greetings from Poland !
@weiggie66
@weiggie66 9 ай бұрын
Do the single speed excavators go as fast as the two speed ones? I would think that the two speed models have a very slow speed and the second speed is full capacity. So the single speed only has one full capacity speed.
@karolusms
@karolusms 9 ай бұрын
To make this final drive work as a two-speed drive, you would have to apply hydraulic oil pressure to the fifth channel. To the channel that is on the two main power channels. A single speed excavator has its final drive set to maximum torque. The swash plate is set at its maximum angle and the motor runs at full capacity.@@weiggie66

Strange about *_nothing_* being attached to that "second speed" pedal. I'm pretty sure in the designation "case drain" _case_ is referring to the *case of the motor,* a.k.a. the relief of pressure. Glad to see it up & running again.

Greetings from Texas. I too have a B27-2b machine that I purchased a year ago. I also have been fixing it up. My came with rubber tracks on it but I had to replace them with new ones because they were falling apart. I would recommend them over steel if you want better traction in ice or snow, also not as destructive on asphalt or concrete. I too have replaced bushings pins and seals. You are doing a great job and will be following your progress. The alternator I believe has a module that is mounted to the fire wall in the left corner next to the fuel tank. I believe this turns on and off the alternator to make power. I will look to see if I can find a part number. Good luck 👍🏼

You're right about the second speed port on the motor being plumbed to the tank/case drain. We disabled the fast travel on a JCB 8026 and found if we plugged the port it activated permanently making it hard to manoeuvre on tarmac (reduced torque) so plumbed it to the case drain.. I imagine this is similar

Not to disagree with who said that it was shipped without second speed, I never knew a manufacturer that would spend money on installing components but not hook up. If that were the case they would simply plug the port on the drive motor and pump and not install hoses and fittings. Just what I’ve seen over the years. Keep up the great videos

I've got a yanmar b15-3, its got the same style alternator, mine was not charging, found a bad connection which once sorted made no difference, I change the regulator and it works fine, my regulator was inside one of the arm rests, my two speed to the tracks is worked by a foot push button, which is a electrical switch which powers two solenoids in the hydraulics, maybe your foot switch should have wires to it, I cant believe they would put the fast travel pipe to the motors and put the foot switch in with out it working. Maybe there should be a connecting rod off it to a valve block somewhere near to it, worth another look now you know that is the lever to operate the two speed. Keep up the videos, always worthwhile watching them.

The two wires from the alternator 9/10. wire 9 goes to the regulator. Being that the alternator is AC, the regulator should have a rectifier. According to the manual, it's just a current limited Alternator, similar to the used on mowers and scooters (eg there's no Field winding). They do use a rectifier, but it is just a Voltage limiter which shunts unused current to ground.

In Renault from 2008 year there is an intellectual charging system, that charges only if battery voltage drops below certain point. It also charges when you engine breaking, some sort of recuperation I guess. So most of the time the system is under 12.5 volts which can confuse some of rookie mechanics, who never encountered French engineering =)

Andris, pleasure as always, another great video. I hope your owner manuals comes way before April. It’s nice to see your Yarmar is up and running once again. Dang I can’t believe how much those parts were but what you going to do when you need them you need them, and hopefully they were not hot from your mafia dealer. Does your Yarmar have a name like Joseph has? Thanks for another great Friday video, and I hope you got lots of answers with your alternator it’s sucks when that don’t work. Watch it be something simple to fix well I hope so like you just need to ground something. Hope Super Mom and the rest of the super family is all well. Wishing you all the best. Until next Friday take care be safe and have a great weekend and week. 😊

I like how you try to fix something and if you can't get it fixed you know when to cut your losses and move on. Looking forward to seeing you shorten the links on the hoe to see if that helps the tensioners

Because they want to sell the whole drive motor! It might work for a spare part incase it goes out again but I don’t think you’ll have any trouble for a long time, Andris! I think you made the right choice!

22:42 The difference between you and me when it comes to working on things - - - You're ok to work with clutter underfoot - whereas I would have to sweep aside all that dirt that came off - plus pick up any hoses and tools that may be lying around.

I have an excavator with the same type of engine and alternator. The alternator plug must have some voltage. I had the same problem and the solution was to replace some cables that were rotten, and clean the contacts of the current rectifier that is inside the console where there are the indicators and buttons. You also have an old tube fuse box under the console.

It has 11.7 volts at the alternator, that not enough?

The threadlock is an anaerobic adhesive (cures in the absence of air) , that is why the bottle is only half filled to prevent it from curing in the bottle. Any generic threadlock will do the job, does not have to be Loctite.
