What’s the big difference with a parts warsher? Is it for workshops without hot running water? I get that it’s convenient, but I never understood the value for money, maybe because I have access to hot water: a little plastic tub and a few brushes will do me fine.
@zzzires50459 ай бұрын
@mm9773 think chemical bath thats contained not just soapy water. Old school shops ran kerosene which is amazing at stripping grease and oil
@mm97739 ай бұрын
@@zzzires5045 Sure, but a regular parts warsher is not a chemical bath. And a plastic tub with whatever stuff in it is also contained. The difference is that your parts are not swimming in a big puddle of murky water, and I understand that it’s convenient - I just don’t see that it cleans better: the standard brush at the end of the hose is definitely a compromise, the whole thing takes up space and uses a bunch of energy - but how clean your parts will be depends on different things: it depends on what substances you use and how thoroughly you brush them. If you clean parts all day long in a commercial environment, then yes - I would want some kind of system. But in a home workshop? Don’t really see the point.

If your excavator does not have a second/fast gear, both hoses you tested are used for case drain. This hydromotor (TM03A) has a second gear option. However, in this model of the excavator it is not used and in order not to complicate the bypass, a second cable was made in the final drive to replace the bypass. Generally, this final drive fits many excavator models, not only Yanmar. Greetings from Poland !
@weiggie669 ай бұрын
Do the single speed excavators go as fast as the two speed ones? I would think that the two speed models have a very slow speed and the second speed is full capacity. So the single speed only has one full capacity speed.
@karolusms9 ай бұрын
To make this final drive work as a two-speed drive, you would have to apply hydraulic oil pressure to the fifth channel. To the channel that is on the two main power channels. A single speed excavator has its final drive set to maximum torque. The swash plate is set at its maximum angle and the motor runs at full capacity.@@weiggie66

Greetings from Texas. I too have a B27-2b machine that I purchased a year ago. I also have been fixing it up. My came with rubber tracks on it but I had to replace them with new ones because they were falling apart. I would recommend them over steel if you want better traction in ice or snow, also not as destructive on asphalt or concrete. I too have replaced bushings pins and seals. You are doing a great job and will be following your progress. The alternator I believe has a module that is mounted to the fire wall in the left corner next to the fuel tank. I believe this turns on and off the alternator to make power. I will look to see if I can find a part number. Good luck 👍🏼

Not to disagree with who said that it was shipped without second speed, I never knew a manufacturer that would spend money on installing components but not hook up. I've got a yanmar b15-3, its got the same style alternator, mine was not charging, found a bad connection which once sorted made no difference, I change the regulator and it works fine, my regulator was inside one of the arm rests, my two speed to the tracks is worked by a foot push button, which is a electrical switch which powers two solenoids in the hydraulics, maybe your foot switch should have wires to it, I cant believe they would put the fast travel pipe to the motors and put the foot switch in with out it working. Maybe there should be a connecting rod off it to a valve block somewhere near to it, worth another look now you know that is the lever to operate the two speed. Keep up the videos, always worthwhile watching them.

According to the manual, it's just a current limited Alternator, similar to the used on mowers and scooters (eg there's no Field winding). They do use a rectifier, but it is just a Voltage limiter which shunts unused current to ground.
