Stupid question but if I were to get a z1 y pipe, would it bolt on to the other stock exhaust components?

also FBO is not gonna Throw the car off and make rough idle to bad acceleration I had my car FBO for a few months and car was great I then tuned it myself and obviously it felt way better but FBO and no turn is not gonna cause rough idle unless u put a bigger MAF housing which is the most important when changing afr as it will run leaner because it flows more air into the engine

I got my 05 g35 coupe around the same time as you and you just now got rid of the stock y pipe? My g is now hr swapped soon to be boosted. Stick to one car and actually make some progress.

A y pipe leaking is not gonna throw the engine AFRs off that is way past the AFR sensors which is located on the headers/manifold a lean code is not something to let easy do a smoke test on the intake and make sure your headers aren’t leaking which most likely aren’t since the Nissan gaskets are well made but still could be a possibility make sure your AFR sensors work swap them if it says bank 2 is now lean most likely si going to be sensor if not it could be other thing but a y pipe is def not gonna throw a lean code

I appreciate your feedback! I checked my fuel trim before and after the y pipe and saw a difference in the way the trim be the same as drivers side. I too did not think it would make a difference until I realized how bad of a leak it was!

Im experiencing this now on my 06' Coupe...i just recently broke 60k miles, and started hearing a leak on hard acceleration. Not too mention, rough starts. Thanks Joe! I thought it was o2 censors. I replaced all 4, and it was fine for a bit, but then started up again. Time for new pipes! *anyone find that they get no pedal response once and awhile? I could be in park, and tap the gas for a lil sound, and get nothing. Happens once and awhile. No movement on the RPM, nothing. No response.

Could be your acceleration pedal sensor, it’s common for them to go out! I’d also just do the pedal reset and see if that helps out in case of just a fluke!

I'm currently dealing with this issue. I have a flex pipe that's leaking which sucks because the previous owner of my G welded the test to the y pipe which I know it's going to make it a nightmare to replace lol

I feel you bro! The g37 I had was in the same predicament, at that time I was contemplating about taking it to a muffler shop and just having them repair the damage area but I sold the car before I could even get to it!

Does the 3in side seal nicely with the stock exhaust? I need a different gasket or something, mine didn’t seal perfectly and I have a small leak. Still running way better than the stock y pipe which was completely broken 😅

It did! A tiny bit deeper tone and changed the way the rasp from having test pipes comes in aswell

Flex pipes flex to let the exhaust move and not be so stiff, if the exhaust can’t move around, pieces break and/or crack due to the stress/weight on them. Flex pipes allow for some play so you don’t have that problem!

Great question, the test pipes I have, have integrated flex pipes so I figured I’d live if they y pipe didn’t have them
