Great job; you survived the multiple cutting activities without drawing blood (at least not on camera). Nice to see your old soldering iron heating up the solder again.

Thanks Robert, That soldering iron has been around for years. The biggest issue with it is heat control, but it's a good all around soldering solution and can get a lot of heat fast on a larger area then my bench equipment. Stu AG6AG

Just out of curiosity, could you just use standard coaxial cable for a tv and throw on pl-259 adapters at either end to use it as a UHF coaxial cable? I apologize if that's a silly question, but I'm new to this, so please humor me....

I got the DX Engineering coax cutting tool and their PL-259 connectors. I STILL have trouble trying to do trouble-free coax connections on LMR 400. I'm new to HF (started about three months ago) so maybe I just need more practice. That's why I always leave 5-6 extra feet for any coax project . . .

Hi Tommy, LMR400 is a real pain to work with... I find myself creating a 3ft circle with the coax coming up in the center. I then use my utility knife to walk around the circle while stripping it... It's quite the show. *LAUGH* Using the UHF terminal as a guide to where to strip the coax really helps me get the thing on right. Stu AG6AG

I gotta tell you... This coax was a nightmare to work with. Looking back at the invoice from 2015 it was super cheap and thus why I probably used it. You get what you pay for... Stu AG6AG
