I added them to my '69. The only issue I ran into was on the rear. Since my truck is lowered, I didn't have good clearance for the bar to mount on top of the axle. I flipped it upside-down and backwards and installed it that way and it works great!

A rear sway bar from a Bronco II is a direct bolt in for these Ford trucks. I put one on my 67 swb. The bar bolts to the out side of the frame. I only needed to drill out the two frame holes because I did not want to use the metric bolts that came with the bar. I got it from a junkyard for like $20.00 bucks.

Biggest problem around here is finding a Bronco II in a salvage yard. But that is a cool idea!

@@AutoRestoMod In the junkyard that I have been known to go to there are about 6 of them. Maybe its a geographical thing and they where not as popular where you are compared to where I live. You might what look for a Ford Ranger truck from 82 to 88. I believe that the rear bars are the same as the Bronco II's. A forum site that you might want to check out is the FTE. Type in Ford -Trucks.com and scroll down and find Ford Truck Enthusiast . They have several forums about Ford trucks. The one you would want is the one for 67/72 bumpsides. It's free to sign up

Vise grips or quick grip clamps are your friend to keep brackets in place during mock up....😁

Good stuff. For the junkyard shoppers out there, rear sway bars from late '80s through '96 F150 extended cab F150s are easy to remove and will adapt to bumpside and dentside trucks with minor tweaking. Has to be an extended cab though. Most single cabs still didn't come with sway bars even into the 90s. Front sway bars from these models can be used on older trucks as well. But it requires pulling the front springs to remove and install the I-beam mounting brackets, so its generally not worth the trouble versus going aftermarket. BTW, do you need a center pad for the truck steering wheel?

F150, F250, F350 and Bronco all used the same rear bar as far as I know. 4x4 trucks and Lightnings had a bracket riveted to the frame for the end links to mount to. The holes for those brackets (on the later trucks) are likely the ones that the aftermarket sway bar instructions said to use. 2WDs (non Lightning) and Broncos did not use those brackets, but had different links that attached to the side of the frame with a single bolt. That style of end link should be easy to add to an older truck. Extended links are available for lifted trucks.

You can DEFINITELY see the difference in looks so i imagine it feels much faster and safer too BUT i think i wouldve welded the yellowish metal brackets right to the axle even gusseting one or both side, maybe even weld that ubolt on so none of it can shift loose or loosen /flex over time

My 77 Chevy C10 came with a front sway bar and handles quite nicely. However, i feel the necessity a rear bar would depend on the specific purpose of your truck. Like you said, I like a bit of a "cushy" ride and would hate to compromise that! Great video though!

I thought I had purchased wrong sway bar - but it is the same one from Adco you installed in yours. I replaced shocks with rough country ones - but did it before sway bar install and after i dropped the rear end with DJM brackets. It seems to me diameter of RC shocks greater than stock. I could possibly take one shock off set up sway bar and put it back on to see where I fit and slide left or right accordingly. I noticed you mentioned something about the brakeline distribution block on the driver side top of axel - have a feeling gonna run into same problem as you. Thanks for the video - I know what I have to do now.

Well Done Guys, One step closer to that Lighting. I know you were fighting clearance issues, but in a perfect world, is there an advantage/disadvantage as to where the brackets on the differential are located, more inboard vs outboard? On my project, I have more room to play with and want to get the best bang for the buck. Keep up the Good work!

Sway bars are definitely coming for my 68. I was wondering if y’all made a video on drum/disc swap along with booster and master cylinder. Mine was done before I got it and the they left the old block that divides the brake fluid from front and rear and also contains the old brake light switch. My problem is the passenger rear tire continues to lock up when I apply the brakes. I have new shoes drums and cylinders on both back sides. Do I need to remove the old block or does it not cause any issues?

I'm glad I ordered my 95 F150 with the handling package which included front & rear sway bars and dual shocks up front. That said the front sway bar isn't the thickest I've seen. I wonder if I got one off of an F250 weather it would be a direct bolt-on. Would be more stought for certain. Even with the sway bars I'm still feeling body roll into corners.

Very interesting. Also I believe this to be my answere? I have sevral trucks & I have found I like driving the 3/4 tons better than the 1/2 tons becouse of the handling. Ride quality is better with the half tons but handling isn't. The 3/4 tons are stiffer & dont have the body roll. I feel like I'm driving on almost flat tires all the time with the half tons. So I think my 86 f150 2wd could use sway bars. It's a nice truck with a F.I. 5.0. Its just to soft in corners.

Just look to what Ford did with the 93 Lightning for your updates. Those trucks had big sway bars at both ends of the truck better shocks and big old wheels and tires.

I have front Sway bar from a 78 F250 on mine. I put sway bar out of a 78 Bronco on the rear, but doesn't seem to work that well. I think I will try the rear one in this video

I have the front adco bar not installed yet but I would definitely add a rear bar as well my truck is lowered 4.5" in the front with a 6" axle flip in the rear the adco rear bar might give me issues since it goes up and around the top of the axle housing . I seen the one made by hellwig and it goes horizontal in the rear of the housing like you were saying although it's double the price ....

We have an over the top of the axle bar on our 69 fair lane and with it lowered we keep running into the storage floor lol. Sadly there are not a lot of options for the 69 Fairlane rear bar set up.

Do you guys recommend ibeam bending to align camber? I have all new suspension on my F100 and I have a lot of positive camber. Some people say cut the springs but that lowers ride height and some say go to a truck alignment shop to bend the ibeams.

In hind sight, do you think the u bracket could have been mounted on the outside of the brake line junction without having to cut the bracket? As it is, it looks like the bracket is leaning and a bit cloogy. Has it stayed secured after driving it a bit? I wonder if the Hellwig sway bar design is any better in this regard. Your thoughts?

Apparently it is different. The only bar that they offer at NPD is the 1 inch.

Wagon would use the same bar as the standard Fairlane/Falcon. Falcon shared the chassis with the Fairlane from 1966 on.

those are Cragar knockoffs in 5 on 4.50 with the dreaded wheel spacers. at some point I want to go back to a stock offset. All that to say what I would tell you won't typically work on an F100
