That’s a neat solution to all the issues. I’d seen the barn type roller kits before but never the ones where the door folds 👍

I didn’t either until I stumbled upon it whilst looking for some other bits. It turned out to be the perfect solution for us.

What size wall plugs are you using? 3:50 And is that bolt going in to a joist?

I’m not sure what size the wall plugs were. They all came in the kit. I’d guess maybe 10 or 12mm. The central ones were into a timber lintel above the door frame, so I could have just drilled and screwed the bolts in, but I wasn’t sure what the material would be. The right hand end was drilled into the brickwork as that wall is solid brick.

Nice! Very clearly solves the problems you were having and ties in with the palette in your kitchen (with the other barn doors). However, the engineer in me can't help but think: "the best way to solve a problem is to remove the cause". So my question is: if you always have it open when you're inside, why do you even close it at all ever? Why even have a door to a stairway? Is it to stop the kitchen fumes/smells from going upstairs?

I did consider removing it but we close it when we’re out to keep the dog from going upstairs. There was also a door to the right of the radiator when we moved in, separating the kitchen from the small utility room. I removed that before we even moved boxes in on moving day because it opened out into the kitchen and you had to walk around the door into the room.
