Cool video. I've had some Seymour Duncan antiquity vintage 60s pickups installed in my Mexican nitro strat. They sing and nail the Hendrix tone to a tee

Hello, I live in Mendoza, Argentina. Thanks for sharing. A question. What material is the board made of? common iron? or some alloy?

Puede ser de diferentes tipos de metales y espesores.

Can it be done on ceramic single coil?

Let us know how it goes. I have a custom shop 1969 (black strat with a maple board) from 2006 and I find the bridge pick-up is a bit thin too ... so it will be interesting to see if your mod makes a difference. My strat is great for those early Blackmore tones - good for Hendrix too of course:) I prefer the old tone pots, when reducing the volume its adds a nice think tone to your cleans (i.e. the treble is rolled off). Personally I don't like the grease bucket type tone pots on modern Fenders

Good info. Was curious what kind of cap you have there? Also... was guessing but wondering if you run without a treble bleed.

Patrick Brown it's an orange drop capacitor. It's hard to tell, but it looks like there's a treble bleed kit. I personally find the "50s wiring" to do a better of preserving the highs when rolling down the volume, and keeping the sound from thinning out. The treble bleed kits tend to do that.

I'm not sure what the value is. I think I've looked before but forgot. Since this is stock Nash wiring, I guess I need to investigate further. I did find what Bob C is referring to, the "50's wiring." www.premierguitar.com/articles/Gibson_50s_wiring_on_a_Stratocaster. I think I would try this first. But, first I need to look at it again because I didn't think it had a treble bleed circuit. I do know that they wire the bridge pickup to work with the tone control. I need to experiment some soon. I don't ever feel the need to add treble because with all of the gain I have when using the fuzz and OCD, I normally run my volume between 4-7 and feel that I am not losing any tone in any of the pickups. I won't know until I experiment. Thanks for the comment. It's back to the table as soon as I feel like taking it apart again.

Always fun to tinker... when you have the time! I have a great NOS Cornell First Fuzz. It sounds awesome and cleans up with beautiful sparkle. It’s my primary fuzz and my strat doesn’t have a treble bleed. I think that it’s a perfect combination. If the strat had a treble bleed I think the roll of on the fuzz wouldn’t be as great as it is.

Hi. Lindy uses wax in both sides of the plate, against the polepieces side and in where you soldered the ground wire.

Wax works well. I've used both wax and silicone.

What was the difference you heard in the other pickups?
@millstap3 жыл бұрын
They all seemed to have a little more output but I mainly just the bridge pup.

did baseplate add microphonic effect in your case?
@millstap6 жыл бұрын
No, but you have to be sure you either use wax or silicon between the plate and the pickup or it will squeal really badly.
