Just be aware people, that only using the left speaker wire is not the way to wire up your Hi input to Low output converter (be it a Stinger or otherwise)... Why? Because music these days is mixed in Stereo with independent left and right channel content, which may contain different musical content from left to right. Therefore, by only wiring up the left feed and not the right, musically what you'll get is only left channel content only. PLUS, if you ever fade music from left to right, you'll loose signal to your converter/external amp all together, resulting in no audio output. The other issue is that by splitting that left channel (between you converter and existing speaker), you're effectively having both the output of that ICC amplifier channel (so it won't be as loud as the right speaker) and the load that is presented to it (eg. 2ohms vs. 4ohm), being it is a parallel connection, this can make some amplifiers unhappy. The moral of the story is to maintain balance, hence don't take shortcuts and be sure to wire up both left and right speakers to your converter, they give you a L + R input for a reason, hence don't wire it up L + L😅. I love how to videos, please make sure you're giving the correct advice though😅👍

FYI-Orange black is positive not negative- I tested mine with a battery today after hooking them up soldered in etc as per video. Same with the right side the wires with the solid and black tracer in the FG are positives. I also used RCA and then also tested this exact under seat sub in my 2012 xr6t without the line converters. TBH this model under seat runs fine with speaker wires and also is less work as you don't need the remote turn on. The sub only requires earth- power-speakers as the speakers turn the sub on. From someone who is picky with sound quality leave the splits out as this under seat is fine without RCA power. The RCA and splits mean the sub gains have to be turned right down anyway. Using the speak wire input to the sub just requires you to look inside on the circuit board where the speaker wires go into the sub box to see what wires are left/right positive/negative. Don't forget if you read the instructions it says hit the reset button after install on the sub box. Zac is the man but always check your speaker wire with a battery and if its pushing the speaker cone forwards then the (+) end of the battery indicates the positive wire. Also note door speakers wire colour is not the same in the B-piller as in the door where speaker plugs in. I also fitted Pioneer 3 way and dick smith offered FG Falcon door speaker cones front/rear. Would also not bother doing door speakers if your factory speakers are working fine. There is a good chance you replace the speakers with something producing less mid range unless you really know how to pick the speakers or are running the entire system speakers with an amp. Yes my system sounds better now but the factory ICC is designed to run a standard 25w door speaker so don't pay hundreds for fancy top end and expect the doors speakers to sound crazy awesome. Good chance they will be better if you select a good mid range door speakers- don't just buy any door speakers you see do some research on what door speakers off the best sound.

Having trouble with this in my G6 2012 model. Just followed the video, missed your comment after doing it all. Is there any reason why the audio is ringing like power surging at higher volumes? (Not playing audio just high volume?)

While you have the car apart change those horrible ford speakers, I'm running kicker cs 6.5", buy the spacers $28 a pair and see how much better you can push the ford ICC.

Wouldn't you need the left and right channel from the original speaker wire? Bridging it seems pointless off 1 left channel and only getting half wattage of icc output? I'm about to do an install this weekend. BTW keep up the videos Zac 👍

sub-par. Honestly its hard as fuck to find 5 by 7's as it is, and finding good ones is even harder. got a massive kicker sub that helps and dropped some 6 by 9's in the back

Don't know if you mentioned in an earlier video, any reason to not go with a parcel shelf setup like the factory premium sound? Keeps everything out of the way.

I was going to, but with the hassle of amps and extending wiring and stuff, I just found it more cost effective and quicker to do an under seat setup. I would have liked to do one, and most likely will in the future :)

Sounds fckn sick! I'm getting an FGx ute soon and want to do the same thing. I'm on my P's but not one of those dick heads that puts a 15" sub behind one seat and a 1000w amp behind the other ahaha. Sounds clean though!
Whats wrong with a 15" sub and an amp, how does that make them dickheads, the only thing that would make that wrong is if they just went to JB Hifi and got some prefab box and think OMG Fully sick 15" sub. The idea is to get a custom built box that is tuned with your cabin's resonant frequency in mind and end up with a reasonably flat frequency response across the range, If your getting it all custom made and tuned your far from a dick head, your educated and actually know something about audio.

@@evocuz3143 but it seems he's just uneducated and doesn't know better, he said he's on his P's and its very typical for P platers to rush to JB or Autobahn and buy some prefab crap and think its fully sick and hes saying hes not one of those, little does he know theres another breed of people who actually do it properly.
