Nice work, I like the trick of not ripping everything apart.

Sweet video but I do not understand how they sell their mountain sleds without this. You spend as much as you do on these sleds and they're sly enough to gouge even more out of you for a safety feature that should be standard. Especially on the mountain sleds.

Exactly. They are on every single Personal Watercraft made. Why not sleds.

Ski doo has the des system which has a coded teather with a claw, so ski doo not only have more power, better track etc
@larsjohansson34255 жыл бұрын
bro ! Better track is bullshit, power is bullshit what are you gonna say next that doo has better belts ? 😂

@@ERVDSR the des system is great n all but Ive had buddys with starting issues here in Alaska where we still ride at -35f, we deduced that the cold weather scrambled the key somehow. We got em started eventually but it was kind of irritating as my 08 nytro 153 mtx was idling contently as we heated the des keys to defrost them.

Thanks for sharing, glad I watched your video. Polaris instructions has you taking so much apart you don't need to if running the new Magnetic tethers. Thanks, Gary

I just did this like you illustrated in the video. Maybe 7-8 mins work. If you actually look at the instructions Polaris has you pretty well scrap all the plastics. Great job on this video! Keep them coming.

For sure, thanks Colin

Polaris should just add $39.95 to the cost of every sled and install these at the factory.

Just say yes to tethers. Apart from not having a track shred your back, who hasn’t had the sled go one way and land on its throttle while you go the other, stuck in a hole while your engine self destructs in the distance.

Great vid, wish I saw it before I put my tether on. The Polaris instructions are way over the top. I put the MUNSTER throttle on so the tether became mandatory since I removed the throttle safety switch. Removing that washer is also a great tip. My tether didn’t work right and I thought my sled was crapping out on me. The switch doesn’t get pushed down enough in factory form, I added a small round head screw in the rubber cap to push the switch down more.

Great video! Just installed mine. The instructions from Polaris make this seem very difficult.

Thanks Jason!! Very informative!!

That's cool, I use the washer and I take a round screw and screw it in my tether lol, gets me full contact, never seen ur way, neat learnin how other folks do things.

Is this the same way for a 2013 RMK pro 800? I know this is alot newer sled in this video

Is the same process as it’d be for a 800 axys?

Do you see any reason why this tether won’t work as a kill switch for an old 80’s GM vehicle? I think if I just cut the plastic clip that marries into the snowmobile wire harness and sodder the wires into my ignition wires on my steering column it should work just fine. Thoughts?

What does the connector look like on your tether side, 2 needle like prongs?

If I don't have a cool notched pair of plyers can I just use a screw driver or needle nose to remove those darts? Just bought the magnetic tether today.

would it be a good thing to use just a little dialectic grease were the wires connect by chance?
@NextLevelRidingClinics5 жыл бұрын
The tether plugs into a sealed connector that shouldn't let any moisture in so its not 100% necessary but it definetely wouldn't hurt to adding a little dielectric grease to the connectors.
@swoop-it46215 жыл бұрын
My tether has 2 square prongs. Wont fit. Any ideas?
@NextLevelRidingClinics5 жыл бұрын
There is a slight difference between 800 and 850 tethers, its possible you have the wrong one for your sled.

It won’t be an odd colored plug, just look for the black connector that matches up to your tether. Thanks
