Great video, Installed the Thudermax on my 2011 Deluxe with a 2 in 1 Bassani pipe, didn't have to move the "bung holes" but I did have to loosen up the pipe to get the rear one in. Same result, bike started right up, been running great since.

Heck yeah. The bassani pipes are in a great location, I think this Thrashin pipe just needs a slight adjustment to work better. Glad to hear it’s working perfect for you!

Ive been struggling hard between the Harley SE tuner vs the Thundermax. Yes the cost is a little greater, but I think you are right that this is the better option.
@Me.MyMachinist.and.l

The SE is a ok choice if you’re looking to maintain a factory warranty or your plans are to only do exhaust/intake. They are designed to work within a safe zone for the MOCO, but for maximum performance and adjustability, the upgrade to something like the Thundermax is the way to go. Best of luck with which ever you choose

Tmax can handle any future changes or upgrades is why I like it, even though on my 17 ultra it seemed rich and combo oil pressure I had pinging issues, hopefully upgrade on my 20 ultra to a tmax from current se auto tuner, soon as I can justify $$.

HPi will DEFINITELY work with the Thundermax, HPi actually runs TMax modules on almost all of their builds and they know many of their customers do too. Ryan from TMax is also running an HPi pipe and breather on his recent build. Hopes this helps!

The PV does not auto tune unless you buy the upgrades wide o2 sensors and adapter. The PV tune only is just that, a tune. Any changes will have to be done at the shop that downloaded the tune. The TM gives you the ability to auto tune as well as adjust things from your laptop

From my understanding the Thundermax is a real time auto tuning system that makes adjustments on the fly unlike the dyno jet target tune system which has auto tuning but you have to actually flash the computer to apply the map you got from your run. Now, if you install the Thundermax, why would one do a dyno tune if the data applied by the tuner can just be overwritten by the Thundermax? I’m having a hard time making a decision with what system to go with and can’t find a clear winner
@Me.MyMachinist.and.l
@Me.MyMachinist.and.l Жыл бұрын
the Thundermax does tune as you go, but also has what they call a safe target tune, which means it will make power, but has a tendency to be a little safer than a maxed performance tune. However if you want to know the power you’re making, or want to put down the most amount of power possible, a locked in dyno tune will provide that
@muhammadumartahir1126
@muhammadumartahir1126 5 ай бұрын
@@Me.MyMachinist.and.lso why would you do Thundermax if you are locking Dyno tune? I’m confused as it seems like Thundermax is just going to waste if one needs a Dyno.

I've had a Thundermax on my 1200 sporty for 20,000 miles 2 exausts and 2 intake modifications. So far it takes a while to smooth out after such adjustments. It falsely says i have an intake leak ( verified with vacuum test) . I have been wanting to hop the engine up with jugs, pistons and cams but im honestly afraid it won't adjust fast enough to avoid causing damage. It doesn't seem to respond to manual map and timing changes. It takes them in memory then quickly disguards them. I'm thinking velocity stacks work better. If i were to do it again i would probably go with power vision with wide band o2.
@Me.MyMachinist.and.l
@Me.MyMachinist.and.l Жыл бұрын
from what I have been told, with each change you must start with a base map from their website that closely matches your mods. The module needs to learn from a base map, rather than a developed map that was created from previous mods.

HD's are made all across the world, assembled in the US. The easiest one everybody can see is the suspension. The suspension on all Harleys is made in Japan by Showa, a Japanese company. Granted, Showa has made themselves a good name by making great suspension for dirt bikes, quads and the like; but people buy a Harley with the expectation that it's American made. Well, they ain't. I'm real close to trading in my 2020 FXST for a '23 Indian Chief bobber. Reeeaaaal close.

Thundermax, what happens if you get a bad tank of gas or only have 91 available on trip? It wont retard timing on the go, what about a freaking hot day, and you be stuck in traffic and all the sudden it opens up and you wanna punch it going through all the gears? Its gonna detonate badly. Its old technology, the se tuner(epa or not) , powervision, and tts for example are able to pull timing at any. Moment while you ride , which the thundermax cannot do.
@Me.MyMachinist.and.l
@Me.MyMachinist.and.l Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure about the pulling of timing. I know the PV on my LRS continues to go lean on long hot rides. I have replaced the intake seals and searched for any other reason it may be doing it with no luck. I ride along side a lot of guys from one coast to the other and the TMax seem to run great throughout the entire trip. I can’t speak for personal experience, but I know a lot of guys, riding a ton of miles, that love their TMax so I’m stoked to try one out firsthand. I’ll def keep an ear out for any noises under extreme conditions

Rumor is that Bassani makes the pipes for Thrashin, I can’t say for sure. Def sucks that we had to modify an expensive system, but overall I’m still very happy with the products I have gotten from them over the years. Maybe they will see this video and make the changes needed to allow them to bolt on for all applications
