Does any of the FXR's have the orignal 1340 engines? I am seeing lots of twin cam swaps
@Me.MyMachinist.and.l2 күн бұрын
A few on the tour did. But all the ones built by the invited builders were either motor swapped or had a big inch evo. We built a blue 91 here on the channel with it’s original 1340 evo

Been a few since you installed the Thundermax ECU, any new updates or issues with it? Looking at one for my Breakout.
@Me.MyMachinist.and.l4 күн бұрын
Funny you commented, was in talks with TMax the other day. They have added a few updates so the plan is to do a video showcasing the updates and give an honest review of the product. So far it’s been great. No issues, and the bike runs solid. These new updates will make these modules even better and more user friendly.

Good video man, commercial shop to a private changes overhead so maybe the guys putting the bike together before couldn’t invest time like you can, I like paying attention to details to! Remember that Harley’s always load the front wheel to the left fork, and before speed sensors on the transmission, there would have been a speedo cable drive on that axle. Wheel is aligned from left spacers and the right just keep the axle at a proper centering for the shoulder and threads. However after a few years on the road, very few Harley’s are ever stock, so proper or correct is perspective and safely performing is top on the list.
@Me.MyMachinist.and.l22 күн бұрын
I agree fully! I def enjoy doing this from a garage perspective and doubt I could ever do it for an actual career. It really does allow you to take your time and figure out solutions rather than trying to get it out the door and onto the next

@Me.MyMachinist.and.l27 күн бұрын
I can respect that. I personally have never owned a HPI pipe, but they do sound great and make really good power. I personally like more of a mid to almost full length exhaust on a bagger.

I would have saved the FXR frame and got a Dyna frame. I ride a late model Dyna, id put it up against any FXR as far as handling is concerned.
@Me.MyMachinist.and.l27 күн бұрын
Not arguing with ya there. The early Dynas handle great and are killer bikes, but the community, history, and all around looks of the FXR is what drew me into these bikes. They have an incredible following which have created entire events around this bike. I encourage you to attend a FXR specific event and you’ll see what I mean!! 🤘🏼

You didnt need to cut up the frame. Oh well
@Me.MyMachinist.and.l28 күн бұрын
True, if I wanted they make conversation oil pans, and/or oil pan block off plates to accomplish the swap. This is just the route I wanted to go. It eliminates the 2 pc right side mid, and a way better kickstand design that is easy to repair if anything goes wrong with the stand itself.

@Me.MyMachinist.and.lАй бұрын
Looks so much better too. I wish I did the high bends from the start!
@shaneconwayyyАй бұрын
I feel like the mid bend vars were rolled back and that's why there was a down sweep. Aren't they just supposed to be angled for wrist comfort? If you rolled those forward they'd be level I'm pretty sure. Idk that's why I don't like pullback risers. I feel like they put everything in a weird angle. That and I'm 6'3 so I don't need any pullback b
@Me.MyMachinist.and.lАй бұрын
They are slightly rollbacked but the setup is for my wife which is not quite 6’3”. lol. I ran both bars where the bars are in perfect line with the line of the front end and risers. You can def roll the mids more forward but when you lay both bars on the ground flat, the mids def have more of a natural downward angle than the highs. The Thrashin aggressive mids have an upward sweep. I’m only 5’9” and fit in between pullbacks and straights. Perfer the look of straights but for long rides, pullbacks feel better. So it’s always a struggle. 😂

Appreciate you my friend! The 8” windshield is a great option as well! Let me know when you are ready for a fairing 😉
