Hi, my fuel neck is quite far away from the widebody qp cutout. I cant get my gas cap on since it is supposed to stick out further. Have you ran into this issue?
@KingandTitanRacing Жыл бұрын
I did have that issue yeah. I didn’t need to adjust the fuel neck but it does sit a little bit recessed in. Doesn’t cause any issues though. If you need to trim back the opening slightly so it fits then just do that. And I trimmed the metal ring off the original panel to provide a brace for the cap bracket. If you drop me a message on IG I can share some of the photos with you. @kingandtitanracing

17”x7.5” in the front and 17”x9” in the rear, offset you’ll need to know what your kit width is though and measure that distance from the original edge. Using the fitting site I mentioned is great for working out offset.

@@juanmireles9850 that’s a lovely kit! Once you get the body kit on you still have a lot of work to go and plenty of time to order some new wheels. You could get away with a thinner wheel if you get the offset right. I’m using 50mm billeted bolt in spacers at the front.

Hey I watched this video few times over the years and I’m getting the copy kit myself as well, do you have to strengthen it a lot?
@KingandTitanRacing Жыл бұрын
You sure do! It’s worth it in the end but I even had to cut off one of the tabs to blot on the front left quarter panned as it was at 90 degrees to where it should have been. One tip I’d give, don’t worry about scuffing the bodywork when getting the alignment right, you’ll be filling and fibreglassing all over it anyway. Just make sure every panel lines up together, if you have a gap at the edge of a bonnet of boot lid then you can use fibreglass to fill that before paint. Good luck mate, happy to answer any questions you have through out.
@KingandTitanRacing Жыл бұрын
Also, when you have everything lined up I would 100% take a mould of the front and the rear bumpers, just incase you lose one in a track session or get rear ended. Happy to come help with that so we can both get spares. 👍

did you have to drill into the frame of the car or was that just preference? one of the reasons I liked the MR2 Spyder was that the kit didn't require drilling into the frame of the car which will cause rust to bubble up one day (and it will. no matter how you'd try and stop it short of living in a desert). The minute you scratch the metal it begins. especially with the metal crumbs that forever sit in the cavities that are vented so moisture can rust them which in turn rust the rocker.
@KingandTitanRacing Жыл бұрын
I had to with this kit, if I’d chosen a kit that cost 3x as much there may have been better mounting options but this one needed some creative mounting in a few places. All the holes were painted and then undersealed to give it the best protection possible.

@KingandTitanRacing2 жыл бұрын
The only advantage on a road car really is the look of it, but if you go to the track that’s where the benefits really show. Having a wider space between the front wheels and using wider tires gives you more stability at high speed or in the wet. Wider rear tires gets more grip down on the driving wheels which you need if you’re adding power. This build is going for 400BHP so I’ve now got the same width rears on this as the Aston. Also you need a big break kit if you’re going to add power, and to clear the breaks you’ll likely need spacers, so you can see from before I did the wide body I had bolt on arches to be road legal. So in summary: • Wider track for more stability • More grip to get more power down • Bigger breaks to stop faster There’re are also aero advantages if you do a full kit but that’s on the To Do list for us.

instagram.com/p/BjcyNSiFgaJ/? here is a link to our IG. There was a load of posts around this one and we did a story dedicated to the cage too. Honestly start with that before doing any body swap as you’ll end up breaking the kit trying to put a cage in after.

What width and offset wheel fit that kit flush?
@KingandTitanRacing3 жыл бұрын
Very tough question, it depends on lots of options. The kit adds 45mm per side at the quarter panels. I went for very wide wheels at the rear for the power I’m planning to put through it. Best thing to do is use www.willtheyfit.com/ and see how far your wheel choice would stick out. Also every big brake kit will have a different dimensions so you need to think about that too.
