Installing Aftermarket Tail Lights On My 2014 Toyota Tundra

In this video I am installing a pair of Autowiki Smoked LED Tail Lights in my 2014 Toyota Tundra (Platinum CrewMax). It's a pretty quick job, and it makes the Tundra look MUCH better.

I have the same taillights on my 2016 Tundra and they are looking amazing with or without the lights on. However, I see one major glitch on it and that’s the daytime running lights. You have to manually switch them on. They do not come on automatically when you start the engine, just as the factory taillights do. Other than that it’s a gorgeous set of taillights.

I really enjoyed those taillights when I had them on the truck. I've since switched to another set (that you'll see in my other videos). There was nothing wrong with this set, I just wanted to try some new ones. What other kinds of work have you done to your Tundra?

Looks great. I just installed a set of these on my truck (2019 tundra) and I get really bad radio static when stepping on the brake pedal. I was wondering if you have that issue? I’m searching for a solution otherwise I’ll need to return them. Thanks in advance

Hey, Jason. Thanks for watching the video. No, I did not have that static issue, but I find that after-market parts (sold from 3rd part sellers on Amazon or Ebay) can be "hit or miss." I've since changed my tail lights. Not because anything was wrong with this set - simply because I like the look of my new ones better than these ones. You can check out the specs of my updated tail lights in the description of any of the more recent videos.

Have yku had any issues with your signals? I installed my tails last night and now I have no turn signals or hazard lights. Cant figure out whats going on

Hey, man! I did not have any problems with those particular tail lights. I'm running different tail lights now, but neither set gave me any issues. Did you get the exact type of tail lights that I did (Autowiki brand)? With my previous vehicles, I've noticed that the direction (up or down) that you turn insert the wire connecters can make a difference. One time I had an issue with my Xterra where the new tail lights would rapidly blink and wouldn't respond. When I disconnected the wire harness, turned it over (180*), and plugged it back in, the tail lights started to work. Sometimes parts can arrive defective, as well. I know that this answer may not help you. I've come to realized that sometimes I have to keep fiddling with a part until it works. After having done a number of modifications to my vehicles, I know how frustrating it can be when something does not work at first. (I have been there many times). I hope that you're able to get through this issue.

What tail lights do you currently have and why did you change?

@@jamesfoster6911 The new taillights that I purchased are Smoked LED taillights. That's actually what they're called by the 3rd party seller on EBay (there's no real brand name). You can easily find them by using the vehicle filter for your Tundra and entering "smoked led taillights." I changed them up because I liked the second pair better.
