I know it’s an older video but I’m doing this on my crown right now I found using an adjustable wrench and wedging it in where the stubs are and sacking it with a hammer made easy work of removing the stubs

Good information! I actually pick up an 86 diff for my x100 the other day and i'm yet to install. Did you have to swap the front 2 main bolts on the to 86 ones?
@KrishneilGarib6 жыл бұрын
Yep, just the front two diff mount bolts you use the 86 ones. Just because the original jzx ones have a taper on one end. Everything else is the same.

hello my friend, GREAT video and thanks! i would like to know if its as strong and JZX100 and IS300 lsd, because i have a supra mk3 and im upgrading my clutch pack lsd to Torsen, i was thinking on using the BRZ LSD so would b egreat if you could tell me if its strong as the stock chaser T1 diff you had before. also im pushing 452HP and 469TQ
@KrishneilGarib4 жыл бұрын
Hey this diff is a T2 torsen so it should be stronger than the T1 that usually comes in a JZX100. The difference is in the type of gears they use internally. T1 has spur gears whereas T2 has only worm gears which are stronger design. While I and many others haven't had any issues with the BRZ lsd, at your power level and depending on the type of driving you do you may need consider a full aftermarket LSD.
@siegfried634 жыл бұрын
@@KrishneilGarib hey. Brz is the dame as IS300 LSD, the M98. Its a very strong differential. I have a friend who uses it, achieving 1.5 @60ft with 850whp and full slick tires, so it wouldnt be an issue. Just FYI. Use it with confidence

Hey yeah these will work in a jzx100 too but i think you need automatic half shafts or something. See if you can search on jzx mechanical facebook group. It should have a number of posts on it.

was your car an open diff at first lots of miss read posts saying you need an lsd prop shafts
@KrishneilGarib4 жыл бұрын
Yeah mine was an auto trans open diff jzx110. On a jzx110 its straight swap, just use your jzx stub axels in the 86 diff regardless if you had auto or manual or already an LSD diff. For a jzx100 its different. You might need to ask the question or search on jzx mechanical fb group, but off the top of my head open vs torsen diff in them have different length stub axels. You need open diff stub axels to put into the 86 diff.

@KrishneilGarib5 жыл бұрын
The biggest difference was definitely going from the stock 3.7 ratio to a 4.1... the 4.1 definitely gets it off the line quicker and was more useful on the track. The LSD portion definitely helps get more power down to the ground especially when taking off or tight cornering. Great upgrade though! Highly recommend it.

Hey mate not sure if you'll see this. What did you do to fix the speedometer after changing the diff? Are you just using your phone to workout your speed or? I've been thinking about adding a Heads up display however it requires an OBD2 port to do so, do you think it would still work with the JOBD? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
@KrishneilGarib4 жыл бұрын
Hey bud, I didn't actually do anything with the speedo just yet... One of the things with doing the manual conversion is that it defaults to using the abs sensors for speed calculation... So at the moment its accurate, but when i switch to the manual ecu and plug in the r154 speed sensor it goes out quite a bit. I've got a jaycar speedo corrector that ive been meaning to wire in. Some people also change the speed sensor gear to a higher (i think) tooth count but ill just do it digitally.

Oh and not sure with the obd2 hud man, depends which protocol it was designed to use. The older standard which the car uses was replaced with a newer standard, so it depends which elm327 chip is in the hud unit.
