FANTASTIC! We did something very similar with a 15" x 30" oval pool that meets up with our back porch 6 years ago. I struggled for 3 days to get to the point where you are at 10 minutes into the video. We are close to needing to replace our liner... I can't believe how fast it faded to almost completely white. That'll give me a chance to get rid of the wrinkles that has been annoying me for 6 years. I'm looking forward to seeing part 2!
@TKCL Жыл бұрын
My friend has this exact pool that's 5 years old. Her liner just started showing signs of fading. She uses a copper ionizer and little to no chemicals. That probably helps.

@@TKCL 😳 We went with a salt water pool and a salt system and we leave our pool open and uncovered year around. I'm sure 365 days of N.E. Florida sun takes its toll. I got the best liner available when I ordered the pool too. 10 year warranty, I think, but it'll be completely white by then, lol. I see liners have went up in price like everything else. One more question did you put the cove on the ground or did you put it on top of a three inch base of sand or sifted earth you know used the notch on the back of the cove to cover the the pool trac

Cove has the notch to go right over the pool track. I didn't add sand as a "cove", just to level put the bottom of the pool base. Fabric right over the cove.

OH man that brings back so many nightmares. I paid a small forutune for my pool. same size as yours. $3000.00 for the pool installed. tree removal was $400. electrical $600. plus much $$$ for chemicals. stairs. deck .. kept it for 3 seasons and sold it for a HUGE LOSS. make sure that row of bolts holding the outside together is well covered to protect the liner. my installer only used DUCT TAPE and that was the first area where the bolts rubbed through and started to leak.

@tonymengela3575 Жыл бұрын
I sitting here wondering what filter system you are going to use. I personally with a pool I had couple years ago did saltwater with a huge sand filter but used zeolite for the filter material. Just make sure you wash the filter material first to get the powder out or it will cloud the pool for a day or two. My pool was always crystal clear. I do know there are peroxide systems also that are really nice.
@TKCL Жыл бұрын
I'm running a 22-in sand filter with regular silica media material. The only treatment I'm doing to the pool is a copper ionizer. Occasionally I'll float some chlorine tablets in it. Our friend has this identical setup and her pool has been perfect for almost 5 years.

@TKCL Жыл бұрын
I've never seen stone dust available here. This pool is only rated to dig out the center of maximum of 6 in, you can't stretch this liner two feet. I didn't do the center drain because our friend has this identical pool, and she's had it for 5 years with zero issues on filtering and clarity. I copied her exact setup because it works so well for her.
@dancharron7098 Жыл бұрын
@@TKCL with stone dust the floor and form feels like a cement base and will not make lumps like sand does. First 3 pools we had was all sand and the last one I paid to have it installed. Since the last one was such a pain on 2 guys. Then I saw tricks of the trade and bow to the experts. It was so well done it made me angry to take it down for house resale. The new buyer did not want it. As he did not swim. Stone dust is a side product of stone crushing and it should be available. It's great for many things as well as no ants..... the center drain makes it so you hardly need to clean the pool. And when you do the center can be used like a dust pan as well. It also helps to keep the water clean and less algy

Great video, however i feel like you caused yourselves extra work by excavating a giant square instead of a large circle.
@TKCL6 ай бұрын
It's far easier to use an excavator and align a square to an existing structure than a circle. It's all about the equipment used. The pool frame has sections that are straight, those needed to be lined up to the porch for a future deck. That's very easy to line up to a straight line because we dug a square. Deck is now installed, I'd do the same exact thing again next time.
