Thank you. Your video is the only one that I watched that explains how to install the mounting bracket and supporting holes in the cabinet.

The receptacle miraculously appears at 4:49. Hope mine does too.

+Proud Guy Or maybe the angle in which the camera was aimed, had the receptacle obscured by the vertical cabinet divider. Just my guess.

My microwave vents on the top and it sticks out from the cabinets, so which microwaves need to have this special venting, when most of these above range microwaves have the vents toward the front top of the microwave and don't need any of this.

I wish you walked us through the whole thing. What's next after you installed the long metal plate?
@MarkJauregui10 жыл бұрын
I talk you through it in the last 30 seconds. Place the microwave on the mounting bracket and then screw in the 2 top screws through the cabinet bottom. Then plug it in. I hope this helps. Thanks for your comment.

What if you only have 1 stud instead of 2 in the area above your range? I used some powerful magnets to try to find studs (or, the screws that were used to screw in the drywall to the stud) and only found one.
@MarkJauregui9 жыл бұрын
Benjamin Fisher You need to use a stud finder and not a magnet. Most construction will have studs every 16" so look for another one 16" from where you found the first; you could poke tiny holes to search. If there's really just 1 stud, you can use a drywall anchor; I might use several and make sure they are rated for the weight. Cheap at Home Depot.

I have an issue where my external ducting outlet on the top cabinet is precut to the standard 9 inch round and is already in place however this is leaving no room for the rectangular transition and im not sure if removing the old round duct would work since I'd have to saw the rectangular shape in its place leaving the wood much weaker. my question is. Can I set my microwave to vent externally to the outdoor vent without installing the transition since the ductwork is already in place and the microwave will be blowing to an external duct just not directly.

I want to put a microwave above our stove, but our stove does not have a wall behind it (is open to the dining area from the kitchen). It DOES have cabinets to both sides and above it - like pictured in your video though. What would you advise??

Use the paper stencil they provide with the unit...not need to measure the holes as it never works in real world...best is to tape the paper plan on the base of top cabinet and drill holes.
@MarkJauregui6 жыл бұрын
rajvb002 It's not a new microwave and there's no paper template. If you measure accurately, the holes will line up

Do you have problems opening the door. I have a side wall with back splash and after installing the door wont open? What could be? My space looks like yours
@crabbyoldgamer30288 жыл бұрын
Why is the line on the cabinet 8 3/4 when the measurement on the MW was 8 1/2?
@gilbertrr10 жыл бұрын
Why not use the template that comes with the microwave to determine where the holes go?
@MarkJauregui10 жыл бұрын
Using a template would be ideal. It's not a bad idea to double check before making holes. I purchased this microwave used and it did not come with a template.

I have a pocket door that runs behind where the microwave should go so there's no studs - just the pocket door frame. Can I still install a microwave in that space?
@MarkJauregui8 жыл бұрын
you just need to make sure that the mounting bracket has adequate support. You should still be able to install using drywall anchors.

The measurement between my stove up to my cabinet is 30" can I install a microwave without redoing the cabinet?
@markjauregui83539 жыл бұрын
Gwyn Hay Yes! From my research, you need a minimum of 30" from the range cooking surface to cabinet so it's just enough room. Keep in mind that you'll want to maintain at least 2" from the top of the range control panel to the bottom of the microwave.

My mom wants this done in her kitchen and I wanna do it for her but there's no outlet in the top cabinet what should I do? Also she wants the cabinets replaced so probably gonna do that also thanks
@MarkJauregui9 жыл бұрын
jesse You'll need power for the microwave. You may need to add a plug or hire an electrician. I imagine that you at lease have a counter top plug nearby to run the new plug off if. Most homes will have a plug inside the cabinet above the range. Good luck with the job
@boriloco1509 жыл бұрын
Mark Jauregui yea there is an outlet to the left of it a few feet away. Is that something you would recommend having an electrician do or is it simple enough for someone who's handy to do? Thanks for the response
@MarkJauregui9 жыл бұрын
jesse It's a simple thing to do and requires about $20 in materials; that said, electrical work should generally be done by an electrician. You know your comfort level. It's an easy job but working with electricity can be dangerous.

is there a way to install a overhead microwave without having a back wall or studs
@MarkJauregui9 жыл бұрын
+chris long Yes you can. Use drywall anchors; although, I would make sure they are rated for the weight and would use several. Most microwaves are wider than the spacing between studs. It would be highly unusual to not have anything behind the sheetrock. The wall needs to be strong enogh for the weight.
@frog123456779 жыл бұрын
+Mark Jauregui alright thank you
@brickett108 жыл бұрын
did you use any filler wood, since the cabinet is recessed?
@MarkJauregui7 жыл бұрын
No I did not need to. The microwave sites flush against the cabinet bottom so there's no visual gap. There is space between the microwave and the cabinet shelf but it's not an issue, the screws hold it tight
@davidschiff18517 жыл бұрын
my instructions say that the warranty will be voided if you install without filler blocks.

Where I can pick up this bracket from
@MarkJauregui9 жыл бұрын
Any hardware store should sell a kit. I use Home Depot. The vast majority use the same bracket as seen in this video. Check your unit to see if it has the opening slots at the lower back edge to receive the bracket. Some older units use different mounting methods.

How did you know how far down to put the support bracket?
@MarkJauregui7 жыл бұрын
TE S if there's no template, measure from the top to the bottom of the microwave, down the back. the bracket goes at the bottom of the microwave
@TES-bt8sv7 жыл бұрын
Yes, I just put it in this evening. Did as you said. It worked well. Thank you sir.
