I don’t care what this guy says if you do not have experience doing this do not do it hire a professional. I decided I would attempt to texture the walls at my shop and thank God it wasn’t a home. There are variables that no one seems to want to explain on these how to videos such as the speed of the drywall mud mix, how to eliminate clumping, the differences between the various spray patterns and I can go on and on. I paint cars for a living like Rolls-Royce and Ferrari and I found texturing the walls at my shop to be remarkably difficult . No matter what I did the mud mix clump and would clog the hopper, The mess this stuff generates is astronomical, the hopper is very heavy and in my case my walls are 14 feet high which meant I had to carry the thing up ladders and scaffolding. The end result in my case is OK if it was a home I would have to tear all of the drywall out and hire someone to come and do it. At one point I reached a little too high with the hopper and the mud necks spilled all over my head then landed on the floor and caused me to slip the whole thing was a disaster and I will never do it again I will hire someone. Also the consistency of the mud mix is crucial and keeping that consistency versus the amount of time the mix sits at one time the whole thing is just too much just don’t do it yourself , hire someone trust me

For anyone using tile with pattern such as marble or the ones in this video do a layout on floor to get a “flow” of the pattern.

It is 2023 and everything here is true. 👏👏 I scraped popcorn without the tool and it was a mess. I’m buying the tool right now and it’s only $20. Worth every penny. #HomaxCeilingscraper I hate using a pump sprayer so I purchased the $60 Ryobi battery sprayer. #WorthIt Last but not least - if you don’t plan to paint the walls but want to remove the popcorn ceiling spray heavier in the center of the ceiling. When you get to the edges don’t spray as much so it doesn’t drip. 👍

I have an 8-way splitter that is just hanging out of the closet wall. Can I just shove it into the wall and screw a blank plate with wall anchors over it? I do not need a connection at that point.

The meeting part between top of tub edge and board, shouldn't the board sit inside of tub? I have watched many videos and everyone says differently. It is confusing. Thank you

you don't use drywall screws in west area. You need water proof roof nails, or cement screws for the brand of cement board your using. The drywall screws are for drywall in dry areas. they will eventually rust.

Hey rookie, Lol you primed the drywall first??
@adriansoto7393
@adriansoto7393 Жыл бұрын
I would say the same thing all the time. But times have changed and now everyone likes to primer before texture. Even track homes here in Denver almost always get primer first, sometimes just the ceilings, before texture is applied. I personally only do texture and I do lose out on jobs for not having the equipment for primer.
@PerryTradesman
@PerryTradesman Жыл бұрын
@@adriansoto7393 Can I say something and then ask you a question? Texture bonds best to the the raw unprimed drywall paper-- most latex primers have a slight gloss, you never skim tape or texture on a glossy surface without using a specific primer. Question- what advantage do you feel you gain from priming raw drywall then spray texture then prime again! I'm 61 been in the trade for over 38 years. -Perry
@adriansoto7393
@adriansoto7393 Жыл бұрын
Yes texture does bond great to raw drywall. The primer that is being used in Colorado is mostly Murco PVA or Murphy PVA and home owners love using that Home Depot Kilz, which is completely garbage in my opinion. I personally DO NOT use primer before texture but the guys that do say it helps hide the bands better, especially in ceilings or rooms with a lot of natural light from windows and such. I say it’s unnecessary. You could just do a good taping job and texture on top in my opinion. And I also agree that primer goes on AFTER texture if u really want to hide defects. Much respect to you Perry, my dad is 65 and had to retire after 30+ years of spraying

Are you familiar with "capillary action?" If you install your cement board just over the tub flange, the water will flow underneath your tile work, and ruin your tile wall. Better to shim all your studs and mount the board ON the tub flange. Some local codes approve of this method. Just saying.

I have the same style bathtub as you. I had a constant water drip that fixed it with some rubber seals on the faucet stems. Now a few months later it's starting to drip even harder. Wanted to changed the 3 way copper piping and new stems but have to cut fiberglass like you did. I was hoping you were going to patch up the fiberglass to as new as before. I guess not.
