Installing an ARB Dual Air Compressor and Switch-Pro System - 2020 Toyota 4Runner | Part 1

I'm installing this setup on my 2007 4th gen 4runner with the v8 all the accessories and goodies arb offered including the tank the inflation kit and the manifold kit as well as the electronic Digital kit as well as lockers and air horns

Thanks for the video, I got the same set up to the tee, after trying to start my air compressor and it doesn’t even start up there is a click notice when trying to turn it on, if I unplug both compressors the fan turns on. I got in contact with the shop I got it from and they said I can’t hook the compressor straight to the the switch pros and that I have to run it to the battery, they also said I need to use the ARB harness the one with the purple wire, after looking at the schematic the purple wire becomes the red wire and that he said that goes to the switch (makes no sense in needing that section of the harness) I haven’t installed it yet just trying to get more information on why it’s not turning on before I install it, I did us the battery from a vehicle but it still doesn’t turn on , the only wires I didn’t run to through was the blue and white wire that goes to the fuse box instead I put it on the circuit breaker just to test it. I’m not sure if that’s why it’s not turning on. If you got any ideas I’d like to know. Aloha!!!

I have seen a few rigs were the buss bar was mounted to the left above the safety hub 150 closer to the compressor more room for wires and you left yours long enough you could do that were the large slot is cut out

Very clean setup! I've been considering replacing my Viair to free some space, but I'm leaning towards installing it under the seat with some seat jackers.

Thanks! Removing the portable Viair definitely cleared up some space in the cabin for me. The Gobi ladder has also removed the telescope ladder that I have for my RTT. Would be interested in seeing the "under the seat" as I haven't seen it done before on the 4Runner.

What is the point of the circuit breaker from the battery into the safety hub and which one is that?

A circuit breaker is to protect the switch pro unit and other properties from damage caused by overcurrent or overload or short circuit. By having a circuit breaker, it interrupts the current flow after the relay detects a fault. It is the unit with the yellow switch and red button.

@@francisngo but the switch pro already has over voltage protection built in. A better question is why spend so much on double, triple and quadruple safeguards but then do something so unprofessional like use the wire taps? That's a total AutoZone thing to do imo.

Instead of doing the t-tap i got the switch pros arb harness. Followed your video to the letter. When i powered everything on, I hit the switch for the compressor and it came on for about 3-5 seconds. have not been able to get it to work. Switch-pros lights up not a problem. Any diagnostic ideas on there I might have went wrong?

I believe I ran into what I thought was an issue but what might actually be happening is that the compressor will shut off if it is not being used. Have you tried hook the hose up to the tires? This is a feature to avoid the compressor from blowing because the air doesn't have anywhere to go.

@@francisngo thank you! It was just me not being 10% smarter than the equipment I was operating. Hooked up the hose and pulled the trigger. Works perfectly!

I plan on doing the same install but the Safety hub 150 says the max fuse amp should be 30amp, is it safe to install a 40amp?

I'd double check the specs of your safety hub 150. For me, the four MIDI fuses where the two 40AMP fuses is to be installed can go up to 200A. The six ATC fuses are the ones that go up to 30A. Let me know if you have any other questions - happy to help.
