Question, did you use tent risers to mount to the roof rack? If not do you get a lot of rattling, if so how did you prevent that?
@francisngo3 ай бұрын
@@christopherlopez6156 yes, I used 1/4” rubber mats to lift the tent from rattling on the roof rack. I cut them to fit along the prinsu bars.

Did not use crawl control or multi-terrain select. Just rear lockers, steady feet, and steering control.

Your videos are amazing. Love the drone shots. Please tell me how do you find these beautiful places to camp ! Are you in a national park ? Aren't there a lot of places that don't allow car / rooftop tent camping? Any advice is much appreciated ! How do you even find these trails !😅 New to all of this
@francisngo3 ай бұрын
No. Most national parks do not allow drone flying. I spent a lot of time driving around forest and service roads to find these camp spots. Any place that allows cars or has a designated fire ring usually allows rooftop tent camping. I also use iOverlander and GaiaGPS to find these trails.

When you cook a meal like that, especially with a meat like raw chicken, how do you keep everything sanitary and not cross contaminate or touch anything with your fingers that you touched the raw chicken with? Where is your water source? When I'm cooking with chicken, I'm constantly washing my hands so that I don't transfer the raw chicken juice to surfaces.
@francisngo3 ай бұрын
I always wash my hands before and after and sanitize the counter. I carry a water jug for washing hands and dishes.

Why did you purposefully choose a 4Runner without KDSS? Any particular reason or rationale?
@francisngo3 ай бұрын
KDSS means more parts and more maintenance. It's great for road driving but I was willing to compromise that for the ability to work on my car and add a 3" suspension.

Awesome video. I want to try this in a bout a year. Think that an SR5 without lockers can do this? Did you have to use your lockers too often or was the a-trac good enough? Thanks!
@francisngo3 ай бұрын
Yes there were some steep sections that required me to use lockers but I think you can do this trail without them. I didn't use a-trac

Huh? Tire size increase by 2 inches does not increase ground clearance by 2 inches. Tires are round so ground clearance increased by 1 inch.
