Installing an Eclipse Overflow

Hey Sam. Quick question. Great videos by the way! I got one on Amazon but has 1-inch bulkheads. And I am struggling to source 1-inch PVC pipes locally. What did you use?

So the red is just an emergency? Do you have to modify it? More so, where can I get better bulkhead and gaskets. I read the eshopp ones werent as good.

What size is the actual bulkhead between the overflow box? The one the drains into the external box?

yeah great question, couldn't tell you now as I don't have it (was for a friend of a friends tank)

great video mate! can you remember what size is the hole you drill and what size is the PVC? Was thinking about using the diamond drill bit ti drill a return line too

You could set it up that way. Or have one as a full siphon and one as a half siphon (which is the way I’d do it)

@@ParkersReef Shocked at how expensive they are. It cost me the same money to build my own sump which i made from acrylic. Will make one myself from some acrylic sheets see how it goes. thanks for the advice

@@ParkersReef I have this and already did most of the plumbing. I have a couple questions. What do you mean by half siphon? Should I send the one with the red pipe into the refugium or the 1st chamber of my sump?

It is yes. Is noisy if it stops and starts again, but normal running is very quiet

you assign the water height on the template that comes with the overflow kit.

The outside acrylic box on my Eclipse L warped/bent within 2 weeks of install, but it is apparently aesthetic only and not a risk in terms of flooding/failure
