A lot of people are very afraid to even attempt something like this on their instrument. Your relaxed, no sweat demonstration of how to do this should put those people's minds at ease. Good video.

Oh that’s great to hear!! Good luck! I recommend just putting one on the bottom of the instrument and not on the neck if you haven’t done it before. It’s a lot easier to mess up if you’re putting a strap button on the neck :)

That is a great idea using the smallest drill bit first, to hopefully prevent splitting the wood. You can also use soap to help the screw go in. Thanks for your helpful instruction as to how to install a strap button/endpin.

Nice, if you drill a hole in the neck for the button make sure it is on the other side away from you, the side of the smallest string, or the side that is down while playing.
@donwyman19505 ай бұрын
Nicely done. You should use a drill bit that is the same diameter as the shaft of the screw.

And then you take the screwdriver in your right hand or whatever your strong hand is and you take it at one end, where the grip is. Yours might be out of wood, so don't get confused as mine is made out of plastic and also has some little compartments to hold the different drill bits, ok? Don't get irritated because of that, your wooden grip will work just as fine. Just hold the ukulele fixed as you put in the screw, but don't forget to put the pin first and then the washer, okay? Otherwise the washer cannot protect the ukulele, so keep that in mind. The washer must be the last thing to put on, look, just like I did, I just come a bit closer so you can see. Then put the end of the screwdriver onto the top of the screw so that it fits into the slots of the screw. If you have the right size it will fall right into the slots. But only if you turn it to the right, okay? That will drive the screw in. That's what we want. Like the screw must go in, otherwise it won't get fixed to hold the pin, right? You see how easy it is. Just don't be concerned, just turn it like I do. You could also take the electric driver, I always do that, but don't go to fast. You see you can go fast brrr but you also can go slow brpppp which is better so you can not overdo it. But if you are a little bit too stupid to handle the driver, you can take the normal screwdriver as well, no problem. After the pin is fastened to your ukulele, you can play it just like before, there is no difference except you now have a pin. So you just use a hole of the strap to fix it to the new pin of the ukulele. As you can see in most cases the strap has a second hole, look, it's here, can you see it? This is great because you can attach it to the neck, which is at the opposite side. It's so easy, isn't it? 😊 If you have any questions, cos you're too stupid to understand it despite I explained it for dummies, just feel free to ask in the comments! 😅

Great video Gracie, my question to you is; why do they sell the instrument without the strap button? When I bought my Ibanez 5 string acoustic bass it too had no strap buttons.
@GracieTerzian3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure actually... I think for ukuleles it's sometimes because the "purest" and most traditional form of the ukulele would be the instrument without the strap button? But I have no idea why an Ibanez 5 string bass wouldn't come with one...
@geraldgomez52583 жыл бұрын
@@GracieTerzian I can truly respect and understand the tradition of the Ukulele and my only guess for the Ibanez acoustic bass is most acoustic sets played are casual sitting down there for no need for a strap..😏)))
