Installing an IDCore Android Auto Head Unit in my Jaguar F-Type - how it really works (time warp)

can you update us if you have faced any problem with the unit and does it worth the price and time. Plus i would appreciate it if you could share your MY info and if it’s a Bosch or a Harman OEM unit.

My Jag hit the road first time in September 2013 - not sure if that makes it a MY 14, but it's one of the very first ones made. The head unit is a BOSCH. Problems I'm facing: * Android Auto and the Jag's built-in phone compete for accepting calls, which sometimes leads to unexpected results. I could obviously kill the Jag's phone connection, but the microphone coverage there is better - generally I would like to use that system for taking and making calls. Alternatively, I could kill Android Auto's phoning capabilities - however, I sometimes need to dial into Video conferences from my calendar and that works super easily from Android Auto, including entering PINs etc. So still not quite sure how I'll tackle this one in the end. The perfect solution would be to have some Android Auto capable program that can switch AA's phone capabilities on and off. * The AUX line picks up some electronic interference from the engine which leads to a high pitch at higher volumes. In other words I'll need to look into the shielding of the cable again. At normal volumes this is not a problem, though. Why I love the system: * Modern entertainment UI, updating itself through your phone. Android Auto's coolwalk surface came in flawlessly after I had installed the unit. And AA is available without any cables! This alone makes it worth the price. * On top of that you can mirror your phone's screen on the unit (cabled mode only). I have really come to appreciate that on road trips when I'm using specific navigation programs. I paid something like 700 Euros for this (including the tax for importing it to Germany) and every day I'm happy about it again. I'm currently looking at buying another Series 1 F-Type and I'll definitely put the system into that, too.
