It should go without saying but this video is not sponsored. I paid for all this stuff and love it! 🤩 Links in the description!

PotatoFi makes great brackets! Note the 4 holes on the bracket are for storing the 4 original HDD screws :)

Awesome! I'm hoping there will be something similar for BlueSCSI V2

When I made my custom SE, i actually did something similar to this! Though what I did was I put the card reader into where the floppy drive goes so all I need is a pencil to pop the Sd card out! Though I used a ZULUSCSI for my machine.

I put a bluescsi in my SE/30, then got an SD card extender (ribbon cable) and ran it through the security lock slot in the back of the machine.

Is that how that bracket supposed to go in? It seems like you should put it in the other way around (going in from the outside, if that makes sense) so that it sits flush with the outside of the case I could be wrong
@insanelygruz Жыл бұрын
Nah that's the way this one goes in. The screws make this one challenging to be flush with the case, but I bet it would be possible to rig one up where you screw it in from inside of the computer. The expansion port is designed weird imo...

@@insanelygruz That's very interesting. Thanks for the response though!

I think the ideal solution would be to mount it in the hard drive bay but with the SD card removable via the opening for the upper floppy drive

Might want to say this shows the old version of BlueSCSI that is no longer in production as it has been replaced by the BlueSCSI V2.
@MrTechGadget Жыл бұрын
Considering it is an open project and you can build your own BlueSCSI v1.1 (and still purchase from several of the authorized sellers), I wouldn’t really call it “out of production”, but yes, good to point out this isn’t for v2
@helfire23 Жыл бұрын
While we're not stocking it anymore (though you could always print your own v1 (or v2)) we're still releasing updates to the firmware. v1 is still plenty fast for a SE, but if you're picking up a new one, might as well get a V2 :)
@Stjaernljus Жыл бұрын
was thinking more that the official channels are not producing this version of the BlueSCSI anymore so don't go looking for this version of BlueSCSI(unless making it oneself).
@insanelygruz Жыл бұрын
Yeah I don't have a v2 yet but I don't think there are any expansion bay brackets for the V2 for SE or SE/30? That's what this video is about.
@95Comics8 ай бұрын
Is there a way to do that if you already have that slot in use?
@insanelygruz8 ай бұрын
Joes Computer Museum sells a bracket to mount the BlueSCSI v2 in a floppy drive slot. v2 uses the full size SD cards too so they're easier to handle 👍

What is the bracket your are using? Is that 3d printed?
