Did you get it installed? I’ll do more AO486 in the future. You should have a look the the MT32 video I did, it works nice with ScummVM and AO486 👍

This is amazing - was super excited to see some games load up, but the games are all letterboxed. I have a 4K LG TV and it runs in a box slightly bigger than 1/4 the screen. almost unplayable. I matched the same settings you have - but nothing works.

That’s a great question and honestly I’m not sure. I suspect not great as these were mostly intended for progressive monitors, but would be worth looking into.

What's the benefit of using this versus using the 486 core?

Either way is good. But there are some key benefits with ScummVM more customisation options for graphics/audio/control etc. it loads and runs extremely quickly and you have access to your whole library all in one place. You can play DOS/Amiga/ST ports and more. Part of the nostalgia will always be running the games in DOS but for day to day IMO ScummVM is great. Check out the list of supported titles, there’s some that struggle under ao486 and run great here.
