Could’ve hooked into a wire in the under bonnet fuse box using a fuse tap and saving all the soldering, a heap of wire and work. Should also use flexible loom cover when running wire across things like radiator etc. Looks neat and helps protect the wire. Also available at super cheap.

Wiring is a tough one, because it can always be done better. To keep the car ' legal ', angle eye or halo or underglow, is as simple as connecting part of your power circuit to your handbrake. This way they can't be used unless the handbrake is on, ie the car is parked. ( of course you can also install a hidden over-ride switch... ) I'm patiently waiting for it all to come together, but always do it once, and do it right, especially with all things wiring.
@fatalerror18355 жыл бұрын
I agree with some of what you are saying but wiring needs to be done right the first time and have its own power from the fuzebox with its own fuze and own loom not tapped into anything but the fuzebox because if you tap you loom all you doing is putting stress on a part of the loom that was not design to run more than thing
@csgo87625 жыл бұрын
clubbin 09 mate its completely safe to tap off the lighter socket, but saying that it depends on the current draw
@fatalerror18355 жыл бұрын
@@csgo8762 rule of thumb its safe if you never use it again that's the only way it's safe. lets do some maths as its needed when your doing a wiring loom untouched lighter socket lets say its a 30amp fuze in the fuzebox so we know the wirer can hold up to 30amps if we never use the lighter socket again its safe to put 3 10amp or 1 10amp and 20amp thing's on the lighter socket but everyone has a phone or something that uses that lighter socket for something else. now lets say I have 3 gauges that use 3 10amp fuzes I wired them to the lighter socket and then I use lighter socket to light my smoke now im using 60amps through a 30amp wire maths you see the problem 60amps worth of stuff going through a 30amp wire 30+30 does not =30

@fatalerror18355 жыл бұрын
@@MV60 I agree that was what I was trying to say about making its own loom. everything could have been done under the bonnet I was always told when adding things to a car you always fuze it and just by adding one 30amp relay you can add 3 fuzeable 10amp fuzes to run 3 new things. no need to cut up a car loom and add things on the cars standard wiring loom and most likely cant handle the new load and that's how cars catch firer. its all about maths and knowing wirer gauges
