Now you're thinking, much better and cheaper than replacing all the hinges in a house. However, get yourself a tube of white lithium grease (not spray) for 6-8 bucks and lubricate the pins themselves with it. You won't hear a peep for a decade or more even with heavy door use. WD-40 wouldn't last that long, so more maintenance for the same price.
