theres just so much to unravel in this video. firstly, this guy is a master. we padwons are looking at the YODA of door installation. secondly, he's so good at what he does, i no longer have any shame about being bald. i mean this dude is rocking the bald CROWN and is doing it like a boss. he probably slayed in the 80s.

I found this video at my local library in the 90's, watched it 3 or 4 times and upgraded to 6 panel doors throughout my house. It was invaluable. I am absolutely delighted to find it again. I just love this guy. You should be proud. As I recall he had other videos showing how to correct all kinds of door problems.

Thanks for the video but I have a question. If your door is 30" and your spreader is 30" same as your door width how is the door going to open and close with ease. Shouldnt your opening and spreader be 30 1/4" to allow for the door to fit with 1/8" space on each side? please assist me with this inquiry. Thanks in advance!

I believe he just took those amount off the door when he hung it, i had the same question at first.

Why does he gain a 1/16th on the hinge side when scribing the stop?

To prevent the door from binding on the stop. If the stop was tight against the door on the hinge side it would stop the door from closing especially when it expanded 👍🏻
