Beware of the oil consumption issues with the N63 motors and the valve seals. If it hasn’t had the CCP performed by BMW, go to a BMW service center and have them do it. It doesn’t cost you a thing because of the class action law suit against bmw for the N63 motor issues. I hope you don’t have any bad luck yourself. The car truly sounds amazing. Good luck!

I believe that's only for the n63, not the revised engines like the n63tu and so forth. Only the n63 fall under this class action. Correct me if I'm wrong.

@@jacksonjay4590 the crossover won't necessarily add volume, but it may smooth out the sound or make it racier sounding depending on which crossover you use. Keep it in mind.

I’m planning on getting the down pipe with the intake I already see from your video and how much difference that downpipe makes... love to see that thing make noise. Also go the same model with turbos... planing on doing the mods in about a 1-2 months

@@GuysWitNoLives yes both are great mods! Just be ready to spend money on a tune other wise it can lead to engine problems that i ran into and ended up putting the stock dps back on. Do your research and find someone near you that can do a custom tune or check out some off the shelf tunes online

Hey nice video. I am currently putting the ARM downpipes on my 14' M550. Already have a muffler delete so im excited to have a similar sound to yours. Question... my ARM Dps are missing brace brackets. I noticed someone in the video mentioned it on your dps too but there was nothing else said about them. Did you install with just the vclamps to the turbos and the crush clamps to the exhaust? Or did you have to modify brackets on? Also I am a about a month away from getting a tune. Sad to hear the CEL delete kit doesn't work. Thanks in advance for any info or tips you have!

So when you buy the cheaper ARM pipes, they do not come with any sort of connecting bracket so you have to get creative and find a way to make your own support bracket to the original bracket. I first put them in and had some extremely aggressive rattle which resulted in one of the downpipe‘s actually snapping in half which was sad. But it is what it is. Definitely get a tune as well because as a result of the downpipe snapping. My whole left Bank DME got trashed and i had to buy a new one.

@@chirho1987 well i did actually install arm downpipes. Later realizing i wish i had went with vsrf that come with a mounting bracket. Which are about 100 more. I cant speak from experience with vrsf but it looks as if they have a solid bracket for the engine. Does the m550 have a n63? Anyways i think vrsf will have some better options.

@@jacksonjay4590 ya mine has the n63tu motor. I almost bought the vsrf.'s Probably gonna send these back and get the vsrf. I have the ARM cold intake so I was hoping to stick with them. I have no access to welding so I do not know any other way to support the ARM Dps.

@@chirho1987 That is definitely going to save you a lot of headache. The ARM intake seems pretty legit so I will definitely be getting one in the near future. The day I decide to return catless, I will definitely be going with vrsf.

It throws a code because the dme recognizes that the catalyst has been removed, this can be taken var of with a flash tune!

With many different sport vehicles including BMWs, the stock mufflers come with a vacuum valve Tronic that opens and closes between the different modes that you are in and sometimes will even open when just putting your foot on the gas. So when they are open it’s just a little bit louder but nothing much.

Yes i did. It has not worked yet. Talked to a few people to see if they could help and it still hasn’t deleted the check engine light. So I’m just going with a tune!

Yes I did get the infamous check engine light. I tried do use a delete kit or defowler to get rid of it but it has yet to work. So I am planning on getting a jb4 tune that will automatically clear the code.

@@mikimiki195 I haven’t had any issues with sport mode! It’s been working just fine. And yes there definitely is a distinct smell that some may find nice, some not. It’s kind of just a raw fuel smell. Personally it’s not too bad for me.

I personally did not tune it but, you definitely should because the engine runs lean and that can lead to problems but, it did run fine and drive fine without a tune. For the N 63TU motor I would recommend getting a flash tune. If you have the original n63 I would not do anything to it. Because of its recall.

@@syxtoaa5 There is no doubt that it sounds better, just know taking out your downpipe‘s will result in a check engine light and you will not be able to pass smog without a flash tune. So if you decide to buy cat was downpipe’s, be prepared to spend money on a tune. Or be prepared to put them back when you need to pass emissions

How reliable is this car? Any issues with the engine?

No engine issues. Just need to make sure you have the right oil or else it can burn up the oil fast.

So how'd you get you check engine light to go away? Because I'm sure it came on because there is a boost line connected on the stock muffler and once you remove that, I'm sure all sorts of things happened.

Well actually not exactly. In order to get rid of the cel you need a tune. The cel is actually caused by the 02 sensor not reading a catalyst change and can tell the cats are missing. Doesn’t really effect the cars performance but can be taken off with a tune.

@@johnabner2027 I have still managed to get 23 mpg babying it on the highway so as of now no. I'm sure it can have some effects on efficiency when trying to compensate. But getting a flash tune can resolve any further problems.

@@yearight1800 the jb4 is a very minimalistic tune. It can turn your check engine light off but will do you no good when it comes to passing emissions. I plan on driving to rktunes in new york to get a flash tune. Which can get you a lot more power and has many more capabilities.
