Who cares if we've already seen you shingling once, twice, or even thirty times. It's the process and your documenting the process. It's great for those planning on doing something similar to what you are doing to see exactly how long/how many times they'll be doing things like shingling the exterior walls. Keep on rocking those videos, you're doing fabulous!

Watching you install the shingles is like watching the waves on the beach. Soothing. And the best thing is that we continue to see progress!!! It may seem like boredom to you because of your many hours of repetitive work, nevertheless we continue to watch each wave and get satisfaction just being there with you as we silently cheer you on. Stay safe, my friend, to you and your wife.

Good thing he is in the country though! Those 5G towers operate at 60hz. Not an ideal frequency for human cells. Actually you can get 5G poisoning which has oddly the same symptoms as a flu or even corona. Respirator and lungs fill with liquid from EMF pollution. Glad you have normal internet and don't live beside those newly high frequency transmitters that are going up all over China, Italy, USA, etc.

Having done some shingle siding myself, I learned from the old school craftsmen about weaving corners. A sharp knife blade for trimming and a block plane for truing up the edges were standard tools used back in the day. A trim router is the ideal tool for this and I would never have thought of it myself. Thanks for passing along yet another great tip. Hang in there, you are doing a great job!

Personally, I don't mind seeing the shingling because it is all part of the build and it has to get done for the job to be complete. I completely understand that you are tired of it, especially all the tedium of measuring and cutting, measuring and cutting. But, that's all part of the process and it has to be done. You're not sugar-coating anything. Perhaps it would go faster if you would plug in a radio or CD player and play your favorite music as you work. This is your project. You invited us along for the ride and I, for one, am enjoying the ride. I don't know if you are calling the front shingling done, as yet, but it looks good from here! With your cooktop in place and hooked up, I was surprised to see that lunch was just crackers and cheese. Oh well, remember to pack lunch next time. You can't have settled in place yet with no more provisions than that! LOL Stay safe and well!

Ok good glad you enjoy it. I should listen to music or a podcast or something. Im not done with the front yet, I still have to get at least one more course across the top and then a trim piece. Yea lunch, we were just in a rush to get back to work.

Your videos are always enjoyable. A few days ago I spent about an hour watching Andrew Camarata brace a rock. Your fans enjoy anything you do. It shows the outside world being brought in to our lives. You could have left the camera rolling in the end and you and Sara shared a few stories or chat! (an hour video, hint hint). Build a small fire. Roast beef hot dogs with onions and mustard. Start outdoor pots with veggies so we can watch them grow. Start an outdoor flower pot (so when you are in the doghouse you can run outside an grab one or two) Focus camera on woods while you tell a story of any kind. ie childhood memory, future dreams/plans Start a gofundme. If 1,000 fans each threw in $5, you'd have a nice chunk to dedicate more time up at the house. *note* a fan asked you.

Something I think a lot of youtubers forget is that, especially during times like these, to many of us these sorts of videos give the feeling of spending time with friends. Even if it's only for 14 minutes, if we get to feel like we're out at the cabin hanin' out with our buds, (with maybe a bit less hard work involved, haha) Who cares if it's the same old "boring" shingling or something new and interesting. Even if we're seeing some of the same things over and over, we're still seeing you progress and work on this beautiful cabin. You may get some people that lose interest and leave, or complain about it, but I think a majority of your audience is here because we like what you're doing here and just want to come along for the ride. Keep it up :)

Great video. I can't wait till the snow is gone at my camp in Maine so I can start shingling ( more importantly to be finished shingling) . I prefer to use a small pocket plane for laced corners, sometimes a router will dig in and damage the paper on the corners. Also, I have a battery operated Makita trim router that is lightweight and would be ideal for weaving shingles on ladders or staging. Anyway keep up the great work and keep uploading progress videos.

Wish I lived closer , cedar shingles/shakes were my favorite . I roofed for a time and their is nothing better than the smell of cedar in the early morning . Except smelling it all day long . I loved doing cedar roofs ! Don't forget to pull a measurement 3-4 feet down from top so you can adjust width of courses so last one is the same size exposure . Will just look better than having last one 1-2 inches bigger or smaller . You can add or subtract up to1/4" and most people will not notice , just the trained eye will be able to see the difference . On the corners you should straight cut and forget the router , will give a cleaner /easer look . Your doing a great job ! Loving it ! Can't wait to see it completed ! "Deeds not words "

I always learn something watching your videos regardless of the task it seems, like the block plane for trimming. I always have used a utility knife for this and am constantly getting knicks and cuts. As for the router my son already clued me in on that trick last year..cutting out plywood sheeting in a window opening. Any video from 50 acres is a great video so keep it up..thanks!

Very nice job, progress is what counts...it's nice seeing you getting things finished and it takes time, lots of time. Hubby and I built a log cabin, he'd go to his J-O-B and I'd go to the cabin to work, I did the vast majority of the interior room walls all alone. So I know how it is, accomplishing what you are doing is very satisfying. Keep up the great job and I'll be anxiously waiting to see what you work on next, even if it's more shingles, lol, you gotta get them done. Stay safe, be careful, take it easy and keep dry.

Your doing great and if we get bored gives time for another popcorn run 😉😀😉. The cabin is a work in progress and thankful for the tidbits learned along the way. Yes those turkeys sounded great I'm just down the road from you east side of Cincinnati and in my travels to my daughter's house in Brown County see them all the time. Keep up the good work 👌
