You may want to put a cover screen on your holes from the outside in the soffit to keep the bees from nesting in the holes. they make perfect wood bee homes.

Wow! Did not realize just how much light those strips could give off. Beautiful. Great nightlight and foundation illumination. No more driving in-in the dark when there is no moon. Come Christmas, run strands of the small foil garland atop of the lights for a red glo.

How cool. I have seen these on cars (ground effects) , but never on a house. You had me at 12 volts. I might have to adopt this idea for my cabin. No generator needed to have exterior lights.. great job you two.

Another step in the right direction , I have similar lights in my sitting room and my sons computer room . They are good all adjustable through high to low lighting . Ideal for chill time . Great idea on the soffit lighting, looks awesome! You may want to consider using the same lighting inside in order to accent different design features like the behind the toe space of the cabinets and countertops in the kitchen.

Soffits look great and looking forward to seeing the burnt cladding going on. First seen this technique a few decades ago and went a bit nuts with it, still looks good to me though. Lights look good and very handy when living in a rural spot and needing to move around at night. Maybe get the "cat" to wire in a night and day sensor with a couple of motion detectors for automatic activation?
