I always appreciate your pragmatic approach to solving these problems. I'm sure you could've taken a more expensive approach than a swale to solve that problem and maybe the homeowner would've gained a little more usable area in the yard, but this seems to work and meet the need. Not everybody can afford the extra costs and it's nice to be able to solve the problems for folks regardless. Love to see the variety of solutions to similar problems and hear your thought process to which ones to use.

I found your channel because I was searching for solutions to the drainage issue in my backyard. I ended up digging a trench grading away from my house and filled it with rock. Since doing that we have had no issues so far. Another great job Gate City. That was cool to see your first estimate came around and you remembered her and we're able to get her shrubs removed. I'll say it again, really like that you come back in your videos and show the project's success. I always keep a "saw bag" with a saw wrench, file, extra oil, spare spark plug and an extra chain that is already sharpened.

Haha Ed! I now have a saw bag too. It's got new chains, wrench, bar oil, wedge.
@edpoints1127
@edpoints1127 3 жыл бұрын
Awesome!!! That's makes me laugh from the inside 😂. One more tip... When you buy a new chain, it typically comes in a plastic package. I save those and when I have a sharpened chain, I keep it in that plastic package so it doesn't rub against the other stuff in the saw bag. Either dulling the chain or puncturing the mixed oil bottle.... Yep.... Both have happened.

Dirt dulls the teeth in the chain on the saw really fast. When working with a chainsaw I always bring 2-3 extra chains. Certain species of tree are notorious for pulling sand into the bark and the wood. A stump like that where there have been digging done around it and mud would be a tough nut to crack with any chainsaw :-) Have a look into chainsaw grinder setups if you use the saw a lot. I tried using hand files to sharpen chains for years without satisfactory results. Bought a cheap Oregon grinder and will never go back to hand filing. There are more expensive grinders out there that will probably give even better results. The nod to Andrew was nice. His videos are great - but your own productions are top notch. I discovered your channel the other day and are binging now.

Seems like homeowner passed up an easy add of a short French drain from that un-caught down pipe (top of driveway) into the high end of the long pipe that Ronald sunk. Personally I’d not want a perpetual puddle still happening there, after spending good money for fixing the other issues.
