I have watched you for many years, Ian, and to find that you battle the shop clutter like I do, is such a pleasant surprise. Thanks for showing us that side of you. I really like your rolling parts storage for upcoming projects. I need that, too, and wish you'd show us a bit more of those shelves. Also, awesome video on the trailer brakes and fenders. My fenders need replacement, too, and you've shown me what I need to do to make that happen. Thanks!!

You could make a removable tire mount that goes in the stake pockets. Make it longer than the pocket so you have room to put holes for a pin below it. Then if it’s in the way for a particular haul. Move it to another pocket.

The best thing to do when working on a big job is to keep an empty toolbox for the tools you are using on that job. At the end of the job or the end of the day. You clean & put away all the tools you had out. This keeps you better organized and prevents you from losing tools. The way you left your shop, there is no way you were able to quickly find half of the tools you had out. Keeping organized as you go does actually save you time in the long run because you are not wasting time looking for tools or parts.

Ian, I'm curious why you didn't add brakes to the front axle while you had this apart. I know you're not in the Rockies, but I would imagine that a single pair of 10 x 2.25 brakes leave a lot to be desired in the braking department on a trailer that size.

@@jefflong5661 You make a solid point! Totally depends on geography. Big mountains change everything. Too much braking capacity is barely enough in the mountains sometimes. I experienced a harrowing scenario coming down Vail Summit pulling a trailer in a snow storm in 1996. Still sticks with me! Fortunately, I'm in the relatively flat NC mountains now where we don't have to worry about big snowfall nor long steep mountain passes.
