For anyone wondering how to carefully take off the coolant hose, here you go. First you actually *push it in* while holding the little collar in place, and then you pull it back and it should easily pop out. The Volvo Guy has a short video on it; search "How to Remove the Intake manifold Volvo 3.2L engine SI6 LR2."

Completely agree with the sentiment about potholes and skinny tyres. I've been a tyre fitter for many years and every time someone told me to get massive rims and super-low-profile tyres I told them where to go: I've seen tyres burst, rims bend and crack as well as snap spokes. Keep tyres with a decent sidewall
@cammgt3rs3702 жыл бұрын
The trick is higher load rating tires than what the manufacturer sold with the car. I had a 2012 Camaro SS and even at 3800+ lbs with 30 series tires absolutely no tire damage or blow outs up to 133K miles. Driven in NY, Nj and Massachusetts on horrible roads.
@Max_Da_G2 жыл бұрын
@@cammgt3rs370 "30" series will be different from tyre to tyre depending on width. "30" series sidewall will be taller on a 315 than on a 215 because each percent ("30" means 30% of tyre section width) is actually larger in absolute terms. As for load rating: while relevant, it still may not save something with 1-inch overall sidewall from a sharp impact of a pothole, especially when we are talking deep dish.
@cammgt3rs3702 жыл бұрын
@@Max_Da_G True. 1" sidewall is crazy and just for car show looks or if you live on smooth roads.
@Max_Da_G2 жыл бұрын
@@cammgt3rs370 This kind of sidewall is actually used by a LOT of people that have their cars "stanced". "stanced" crowd does it mercilessly. And then combine that with ridiculous camber, stretch of the tyre, wheel poking out 2-3 inches from the bodywork. Seen that in person. I understand that to each their own, but it took a lot to suppress the cringe.

Just wanted to say great job on your videos!! they are fun to watch and it is cool to see you do the majority of the work on your own. I just recently bought a 2017 S60 T6 R-Design and live not far from you, Vancouver, Wa. Hey man, love your videos! Could you try finding a 0-60 gps app on your phone and giving it a shot? Would love to see what time it puts down! P.S. Launch in 2nd gear (not actually in second) that way computer will let you launch at almost 3k rpm instead on 1800 in first. Cheers!

Yea i have the dragy device ill be doing that soon. And it drops to 1st gear when i try to launch it.
@msullivan2144 жыл бұрын
You need to turn off traction control and put it in 2nd for launch to get the 2800 rpm kick. It works but it’s not great for the transmission.

Just a few tuning adjustments for the intake manifold if needed. On the dyno. After that ill do turbo upgrade and then well have to retune it again.

Does the SNABB intake hit or touch the new Elevate manifold? I know the new manifold sits higher than the OEM one and I was worried my SNABB intake (like yours) would also have to move up and it is about at it's highest point without rubbing on the hood. So is there enough clearance between the two?
@BuiltForSpeed4 жыл бұрын
Yes theres about 3/8-1/2inch of space
@simonm85863 жыл бұрын
Rather than guessing how changes affect performance, use a GPS acceleration app and, key point, don't launch, nor change gears ** Instead, use say 3rd gear rolling start and compare times going from say 60kph - 100kph, on same stretch of road

Hello, do you feel the $1200+ was worth it so far or do u feel you need the tune to answer that? I'm sure it would help with the hybrid turbo you plan on getting.
@BuiltForSpeed4 жыл бұрын
Yes i do feel its worth it but you definitely will need a tune after it will increase alot of airflow car wont be able to adjust... The intake distributes the air evenly between cylinders and it adds more airflow.

You need to leave it in automatic not manual mode , this cars manual mode is pretty slow.

Not true. I already tested it both ways you need go shift it at the cars highest power output rpm. Because the car shifts very slow and late.

What about automatic Sport mode? How are the shifts?
@BuiltForSpeed4 жыл бұрын
That what we are talking about sport mode automatic. It doesn't shift in time and doesn't shift fast enough. But hilton tuning has made some tuning adjustments and it shifts much better now in sport automatic. But if you know what rpm your peak power is then it ok to shift at that rpm manually
