Thanks very much buddy... this video was very helpful and descriptive. I changed both of my front speakers very easily following your instructions on my Pontiac G5. Very much appreciated.

Is soldering important to do?
@elijah22103 жыл бұрын
it is if you want the electrical connections to be solid. But you could also use Electrical Tape or just heat shrink to connect the wires without soldering. Those will most likely work out but aren't as strong of a connection as solder, but they'll work just don't tug on the wires.
@ChromeStryder3 жыл бұрын
@@elijah2210 ight I'm gonna be trying this tomorrow. Only got electrical tape for now but if i can get a soldering kit for a cheap price I'll just take off the panels again and solder. (If water doesn't kill the speakers again by then)

WOW! You did an excellent, eloquent job at explaining the step by step process!!! I don't know if gaming vidz give you a lot of youtube clicks but automotive do-it-yourself videos apparently pay off in the end. I hope you do more! ;-)

Is there a depth issue with these speakers?
@elijah22103 жыл бұрын
I did not run into any depth issues on my end. Was there something not lining up for you or is the door panel not bolting back up all the way for you?
@noahr49513 жыл бұрын
@@elijah2210 I haven’t purchased new speakers yet. I wanted to make sure there weren’t any restrictions when choosing my new speakers. I’ve run into doors that could take deep speakers.

My radio doesn't light up anymore I can't see anything on the screen but all the buttons light up and the radio still works any idea what this is? Is there a bulb that died or something?
@elijah22105 жыл бұрын
That could be a number of problems, But I would start by looking at my power cables and making sure everything is correctly hooked to what it is suppose to, (Red to Red) (yellow to Yellow) and (Black to black or a metal on the chassis) and depending on the radio, you might have to hook up your illumination wire to you're battery power (red). But I've never had to do that with any of my screen radios, Another possibility is that the fuse blew on the back of the radio. And Lastly, it's possible that the radio screen just went out, it happens.

do I need a new radio to run new aftermarket speakers?
@elijah22106 жыл бұрын
Ryan Wells nope it's not necessary, but I'd recommend it, that and a aftermarket amp for the speakers. These particular speakers sound better amplified.

WHY YES... YES YOU DO! Spend a couple of $K on a new radio and those speakers will sound like... well... $60 speakers! ;-)

Do you get any rattling from the door trim due to the speaker bracket creating that gap between the door and trim? I couldn't tell if the trim was loose at all or pretty flush against the speaker bracket
@elijah22108 жыл бұрын
Landon Abalos the only rattling I get is from my window cranks because the plastic piece on it comes loose. But that's because of my subwoofer in the car. otherwise I never heard rattling from the mounting brackets on the speakers .

I'm about to replace both my front speakers and they make an adapter that let's you not have to cut any wires. I ordered the adapter and I'm hoping it keeps me from having to cut the stock connectors off.
@elijah22106 жыл бұрын
Eric Whitaker thats a good route to take, back when i had the car i ended up soldering the speaker connector adapters to the wires i had cut so that if the other owner wanted to changed the speakers, he wouldnt have to cut and hardwire to connect them like in the video.

Bandicoot2222 I replaced my speakers last week and the passenger speaker connector was badly corroded. I cleaned the pins up but now it's going in and out. Looks like I'm going to have to remove the connector anyway and solder on another one. Oh well. Thanks for the great tutorial! It helped a lot.
