I have Gator blades on my D110, those things are STRONG, I have ten old white oak trees on my property and they are very good at dropping bits of limbs as well as leaves. It munches them as well, as long as they are not too big. (2"or less)

By the way, I HATE RAKING LEAVES TOO!!!! But I mulch the entire lawn first with the plug and then bag them. It mulches the leaves to about a 20-1 ratio and it Works great! It takes about an extra 25 minutes to mulch leaves on my .30 acre yard first but it prevents the tube from clogging with leaves when I bag them.

I can't believe you built that crazy ramp to change you blades. RTFM man. 3 pins and 1 tool-less cable and the deck comes right off. I have the same mower.

@teeemm94562 жыл бұрын
It's way easier getting to the bottom so you can clean it or change / sharpen the blades. The time it takes to build those is probably about as much time as it takes to take off and put the deck back on properly.

Just fitted to my new S120. Standard blades cut, but didn't mulch well at all (left the cuttings in big lumps all over the lawn), these new blades all but made it disappear. Piece of advice - wear a mask as they mulch grass into a fine dust like you get when sanding wood and it goes everywhere - just my 2 cents worth

You use the gator blades with the mulch plug,how good does it do with just grass? I mow a few lawns for friends that are out of town alot and I'm wanting to get a new john deere s series next year and wanna mulch when I can to save time blowing off driveways and flowerbeds and stuff. The s220 and s240 use the accel deep deck and has a mulch kit you can open and close from the seat,but that may be out of my budget at $3500. I'm stretching my budget at $3000 honestly. I'd appreciate any thoughts youd share.

@@DIYJIM I got mine directly from john Deere.. I think its because the deck I have is a Accel Deep deck 42".. @@radekw708 john deere sales a mulch on demand kit that works wonderfully with your mower. It comes with blades and a bolt on kit that uses a shield and trap door that's operated by a lever ontop of the deck. When you wanna mulch,close the door. When ya wanna just blow the grass out,just open the door. It's less than $150,easy to install,and well built. Western equipment has a great video showing the kit,its installation.

@@radekw708 I'm sorry,I dont know how to do that on here. You should either just be able to google it or look it up on your local dealers website. It's just called a mulch control kit and you'll only need to know the size of your deck. They only make them for the accel deep decks.

Your son's quite the card. But letting him run around behind the mower is dangerous. Lots of kids and animals have been hurt that way, tho I realize with the bagger you're probably not going to be backing up. Still, you should caution him to stay clear of the machine. I like your ramps, btw.
