You're welcome - it worked like a charm!

I’ve been wanting a set of these for a while now, but at almost $600 for a set I couldn’t see it. I did some research and found the same covers that are off brand. They look and probably are the same covers for $200. I pulled the trigger and I’ll soon find out how they work.

They were a little pricey but I've been super happy with them. I've seen the knock-off versions, but haven't tried them. I'm sure they would work good too.

I have an Amazon set of the same thing. But when running high mount truck alternator I had fitment issues and can’t fit the alternator. What accessories did you use ?
@redgoatgarageАй бұрын
I ran truck accessories BUT the alternator I moved down low on the drivers side. If I didn't it would have been sticking up and I thought that'd look funky. It was really only the water pump and alternator - no power steering or A/C.

@ do you have a link or name to the bracket used to move the alternator down low ? I’m not running ac just power steering and alternator

My oil part is in the passenger side will these work with it being in the driver side ?
@redgoatgarage11 ай бұрын
I'm not understanding your question - on your engine right now the engine oil fill is on the passenger side?

@@redgoatgarage yes mine is a lq4 or 7 4.8 2003 Chevy 1500 not a true LS
@redgoatgarage11 ай бұрын
@@Q_mane LQ4 is a 6.0, but it doesn't matter, these valve covers fit on any LS variation engine. Your factory fill is at the front of the passenger side valve cover. With these Holley valve covers there is one under the cover and coil on the front driver's side along with one under the cover and rear coil on the passenger side.

What did you end up doing to vent the motor valve covers?
@redgoatgarage Жыл бұрын
There is vents built into the covers - I hooked those up to the factory vacuum ports on the factory intake. Does that answer your question or were you asking something different?
@davidmariopratt25 күн бұрын
Did you upgrade the cylinder heads for longer valve train? I am just learning so pardon if I sound like a newbie. I thought the whole point for larger valve covers was for what I just described.. Thank you if you can answer.
@redgoatgarage25 күн бұрын
Hey there - no this is a bone stock 5.3L LS in this video. I'm not sure if the valve covers would accommodate larger-than-stock valve train, you'd have to ask Holley that. I used these to hide all the coils, but the actual valve cover itself is fairly stock-ish in size I'd guess.

You would think that for the price they would have designed it with oil cap acces. Definitely not using this type of valve cover.
@redgoatgarage Жыл бұрын
I can see that - but if it had an oil cap then it wouldn't be as clean either. Plus this is a nice basic LS engine which, in theory, shouldn't be consuming oil. And let's face it - it's going into a T-Bucket that won't need more than probably one oil change a year at the most.

The gen 1 coils use the same harness you had?
@redgoatgarage Жыл бұрын
The sub harness that attaches to the coils? I believe they are all the same.
