I am loving them so far. The only thing I would have liked is for them to be about 1.5"-2" closer to me. I guess I have T-Rex arms lol. Thanks for checking this video out and leaving a comment. Ride Safe as well.

@@SaskRiderMoto I have short arms and legs - but a long torso. I have mine pulled back a bit from neutral, very comfortable - when they were straight up I had to lean forward a bit. Road 6206 miles on a 15 day trip cross country last year with absolutely no issues with my handlebars or back/shoulder pain like I had with the stock bars

@@119topdawg I have short arms/legs and torso so I beat you haha. I have the bars pulled as far back as I can without hitting the tank when I turn. I might have to get Rox bar risers so I can pull the bars back more. The nice thing is I no longer get numb hands since I went to the mid risers haha.

I like them, but I might put the factory bars back on with ROX Risers. I am a shorty and it is borderline with my shoulders. If I am not sitting straight up then they are above.....Plus it is damn cold on the hands in early spring/late fall out in the open like that in Canada lol

I added a freedom 12” in light grey time. I didn’t have any etching done. Love the shield. Good people to deal with also😊

Wow, you are binge-watching. I like it haha. I am looking at the 14" as I would like it a bit taller if I am riding in the rain so I can hide behind it lol. I have emailed Freedom a few times and every time he answered my questions right away and was always willing to help out in any way.

Nice video buddy, I just want to point out you never mention the longer clutch cable required for the Indian bars. Also I too had the same shield as you and changed to a clear Freedom. I stayed away from the etching as it seems it would be a distraction the times you need to look through the shield, just my opinion.
@SaskRiderMoto2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for stopping by. I am still using the stock cable. I added the note to the description section. Thanks for pointing that out for me. I am trying to decide on the clear or very light tint. I am also trying to figure out whether 14" or 16" going by what their site says for measuring. 15" would have been perfect for 2" below the line of sight all the way down and 1" above looking through. I never thought of the etching being a distraction...... Nice mention, thanks.

I know I’m late to the party, I have a 23 Chieftain. Rotator cuff surgeries have made stock bars uncomfortable. Any notable differences in handling?
@SaskRiderMoto12 күн бұрын
As far as the bike goes, nothing was different for handling. Having my hands up higher made it more comfortable for riding. I was always feeling like I was slouching and my hands where at my knees. This is saying a lot as I am not a tall person and I have T-Rex arms haha. Thanks for the question and checking on the video.

Just got mine today. How long did it take you?
@SaskRiderMoto2 жыл бұрын
@@joshmaclennan271 It took about 4 hours, but that was also because I was filming and such as well. If IU was not filming to make the video, 1.5 - 2 hours, and that's taking your time and using a ratchet instead of power tools. Thanks for the comments and for watching the video. Enjoy the new beast.

Looking at your video. Did you say there is screws where the speakers are to take off the fairing? If so. How did you take off those covers? Thanks
@SaskRiderMoto2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for stopping by and checking out the video. below the speaker grill, there are 2 screws you take out of the fairing, and then the grill just pops out (this is for both sides/speaker compartment). Once that is off there is 1 screw by the speaker that you need to remove plus the others on the fairing and you will be good to go. Have fun doing the install.

Doing my bars now. Seems as though the kst guy doing the bars has a ton more length of wire left over. How much did you have left over. Haven’t installed them yet.
@SaskRiderMoto Жыл бұрын
When I did this, there was extra wiring zip-tied under the fairing. When I was putting it back together, I had to zip-tie the wires back up as there was too much to leave dangling freely. Thanks for checking out the video and leaving a comment. Please let me know any other questions and I will try to answer them.

Hey there. Thank you I appreciate it. If I was not filming while doing the install, I would say 1 1/2-2 hours start to finish. As long as you have the tools and something to snake the lines through the bar it was actually not bad. Thanks for looking at the video and leaving a comment.

Now that you've had the midrise bars on for a while, do you prefer them over the stock bars?
@SaskRiderMoto Жыл бұрын
Hey there, Some days yes, and other days no. I am tossing around the idea of getting the ROX 2" Risers, putting the stocks BARS back on, and seeing how that is. I have a short upper body and depending on how I am sitting my hands go slightly above my shoulders and I am still reaching a bit when I have the bars at full lock. If I change them up, I will record the installation and give my thoughts after installing them. I might just rock the mid-risers for another season. Not sure yet. Thanks for stopping by and checking out the video.

Did the stock wires in the handlebars work on the higher bars, or did you have to buy extensions? Also, I have a 2021 also, and the first thing I did was change that lousy brake peg they give you instead of a pad. I also put on a Freedom medium smoke windshield. Looks great and great customer service, they answer the phone. Thanks for the vid.
@SaskRiderMoto2 жыл бұрын
Hey Tim, Thanks for checking out the video. Clutch, brake, internal wires all stock no extension. I put the Kuryakyn spear pad on the brake and shifter. I am going to switch shields this winter. Going to go with the Freedom 14" clear or light grey and give it a go. John from Freedom has answered all my questions.

Did you end up liking them better than stock? How tall are you? Thanks
@SaskRiderMoto Жыл бұрын
Hey there, I am 5'5" and they were great in the summertime, but my hands were cold in the spring/fall colder weather. You can either get gloves for the colder weather or just get some ROX bar risers; that way, the factory bars get lifted and pulled back a bit. That's what I ended up doing this fall. Thanks for checking out the video and leaving a comment.
@meledge55 Жыл бұрын
Thanks. How much does it move the bars, do you have a pic, was instal reasonable? Thanks again
@SaskRiderMoto Жыл бұрын
@@meledge55 Adding the ROX bar risers is a lot easier as all you have to do is cut the zip tie in the fairing to have more cable, undo the 2 bolts that hold the bar clamp on, undo the 4 clamp bolts, put the bar riser on, put bolts back on, then bar into the bar riser and put bolts back in then adjust to where you want them and tighten everything down then zip tie the rest of the harness back up. I will try and get a picture or 2 for you. They moved the bars back enough that I have a good bend in my arm now and they are a bit higher than stock bars which is what I was looking for. Wish I would have just done the ROX risers to start with.
