Great sound! The 240 is handy for camping trips. Keep on rolling!

Gotta love that redblock purr. It really is great for camping, I’ve spent several nights in it. Appreciate the comment 🙏

Thanks for the video. My 240's exhaust is leaking pretty bad and I've been considering this option and you've convinced me.

This brings me back to my childhood, my dad had one of these with the IPD exhaust on it

That’s awesome! Love to hear the video had you reminiscing on your childhood. I think that’s a fairly common theme for a lot of people do to them being so popular back in the day so a lot of parents had them as the safe family cars

@@NamelessCo oh no, my old man had 3 different turbo setups 2 were a bit janky the third time the engine was apart for 2 weeks and it ended with a rebuilt motor with a different cam, head studs, flywheel and clutch in the baby blue wagon. It was a Subaru before Subarus were fast 293hp at the wheels.

@@poonbandit9924 That’s what I like to hear! I love it when people really build and use there Volvos. That’s definitely what I’m planning on doing with mine. It sounds like your old man had one hell of a 240. Baby blue is one of my favorite colors for them and that must have been a practical rocket ship with that much power! I really appreciate the comments

@Nameless Co the IPD sport exhaust adds about 6 horsepower and will definitely go well with a cam swap for more power.
@NamelessCo2 жыл бұрын
Good to know, that’s exactly what it feels like. A new cam is definitely on the list!

I switched from M och K cam, that is to much for at stock B230F If you have LH2.2. It runs out fuel on the higher rpm. I am gynna try VX3 cam soon or A cam. The fuelsystem Lh 2.2 is more of a daily driver system. If you have LH2.4 there are upgrades avaliable to handle more fuel. LH2.2 can not be upgraded. Nice job! Greetings from Sweden

Thanks for the video. Nice work. Inspiring. ...I wondered about the blue IPD cross bar (?) under the Volvo 240DL. You get a good view of the blue IPD product under the wagon at the 1:30 (1 min 30 sec) mark. Cross bar may be the wrong term, so I wondered what the name of that IPD product would be. Please advice. Adds to the stiffness?

That’s probably the IPD swaybar, pretty common upgrade, seems really easy to install too. I can’t remember EXACTLY what it does, but it improves handling by reducing body roll I think.

Thanks for the video! I installed the same setup on my 240 last night. Have you noticed or heard the muffler knocking around when you go over bumps? I can hear my new muffler hit the bottom of my car and it's a bit disconcerding. Anyway, thanks again!
@NamelessCo2 жыл бұрын
Of course! I was having the same if not a very similar problem for quite a while. My exhaust pipe was rattling on the ipd sway bar so I put a bit of padded heat wrap on the sway bar. It was still rattling from a different area after I wrapped the sway bar. My muffler was hitting on one of the hitch bolts but after removing the bolt there was no more knocking.

cool! idk anything about cars, this goes on after the cat converter right?
@iridiumvalkyrie90177 ай бұрын
Yes but it doesn't look like they have a cat on here. I'm having an issue where the exhaust is hanging too low and I can't figure out hoe to mount the exhaust pipe without it being too high and hitting potholes in New England have caused it to shift and the back pin on the rear silencer is hitting the frame. Trying to toert that out next.

Nice throaty sound. I'm gonna do it! Any plans to upgrade the header to the new pipe? I look at mine and that rust scares me. Like those block studs are gonna break if I try and remove them.

how can the throttle response be better with a new exhaust?
@NamelessCo2 жыл бұрын
Because there’s less restrictions in the exhaust it creates a more direct response from the pedal
@burepajkn49752 жыл бұрын
@@NamelessCo Well there is slim to none of restrictions in the original exhaust they would not make an exhaust with a noticable throttle response
@NamelessCo2 жыл бұрын
@@burepajkn4975 it deletes a whole big muffler and the rear muffler is a bit smaller too. Also it’s a bigger pipe all the way back. It’s definitely noticeable when driving or revving

Exhaust pipe under axle... This is so stupid in US market version :V
@frankvitullo37352 жыл бұрын
You really need to replace your motor mounts. Your exhaust flexes way too much when you rev it. Motor mounts always need to be replaced in these cars

With that IPD exhaust you can barely hear the car ,& how silent itnis.
@jamesinc872 жыл бұрын
It gives the car a nice rumble. I run one on a K-Jet B21E and it is much louder than a stock exhaust, and has a nice tone to it. I think in this video the mic just isn't really picking up the sound very well.
