Installing Ladder Racks on my Truck

Removed my old plastic bedliner then drilled and bolted the racks in place. Used 1/2 inch drill bit and bolts. Pretty easy install overall.

just a tip... if you don't want the paint rubbing off under the ladder racks and rusting, installing a rubber gasket made for racks underneath will protect the bed. Also taking them back off and painting the racks with bed liner will help keep them from rusting and bleeding rust down the sides of your truck. Ask me how i know..lol

Yeah I was thinking about finding some rubber strips to put under them. I was also thinking about putting a coat of paint on them as well. Thanks!

I wasn't planning on removing the box cover, is there a reason not to install the rack directly onto the rails of the bed?

This rack must be drilled into the top sides of the truck bed, or it won't be stable to haul anything.

How tall are your ladder racks? I got a s-10 I'm getting ready to order a pair from Amazon(they come in different sizes) and yours look like they would work for mine.

Mine measure 31.75 in or 80 cm tall

I still don't drive it much.. I came across them for only $50 dollars which was a great deal so bought them & installed them for future use.

99 Dodge Ram. It's a universal fit bought it used.

Why did you remove the bed liner?

Because it was in the way of installing my ladder racks, and I got a spray in liner shortly afterwards (see video of that)
