Good video in general, but I would not suggest leaving synthetic lube on your tire bead. It will compromise the tire sticking to the rim because it will take a lot longer to dry. It should be a water soluble solution like tire mounting soap or a soap & water mix., etc. Thanks for the video. The tube looks interesting. I’m currently a Michelin mousse guy. I’m a big time Slavens Racing supporter because of the plethora of support videos you guys put out.

I have thought of the Lucioli concept years back. It definitely has its place, especially with hill climbers. I like the dual rim locks. I have been using Michelin UHD tubes as an outer liner on my HD tubes for years with good luck.

It' s designed and work very well for Hard Enduro / Extreme when we go down to 3-4 Psi. I have them for couple of years and love it very much.

Ran these front and back for Barstow-Vegas though the desert this year. Advantage here over mousse is that on slab they did great, with only the rear bumping up a little in pressure (~2psi) due to road heat for the last part into Vegas. I'm not good enough to really feel any unsprung weight differences at speed. Being new, on a new KTM, they were also my first tire change/install and the process really was not bad at all with a video or two. I used a good deal of silicone lube, just as I've heard you're supposed to lube up the mousse and for the exact same reasons. Hitting rocks at speed, no pinch flats or issues. Data point size of 1, but if you're not hung up on the weight aspect they seemed to do okay. For someone who wants to the flexibility to BDR and tour as well as off-road, it's a trade off of weight-vs-changing pressures vs a mousse's single pressure and heat degredation. Party on.

No rim tape? Or did I miss something? Thanks for the video… interesting

I’d rather use a bib mousse. Much easier to install, and impossible to get a puncture

Always love your videos! I will however stick to my tubliss. Don’t have to drill an additional hole that you’d have to seal up if you decide to change your setup after that. Also I can run 0 psi for the ultimate traction on the nastiest roots in the PNW with tubliss and can put a plug in the tire on the trail too if running low psi etc.

Great Video Ray. I’m not running tubeless or moose so this is a good alternative. See you at the store soon. Happy Trails. Greg In Pueblo.

Interesting alternative to tubliss for sure👍

I have been using these tubes for the last 2 years in southwest Idaho from the sawtooth mountains to the Owyhee desert. Slammed into roots, rocks and everything in-between. These are about a 1/4 inch thick, 7mm and are undestroyable. They are a pain in the ass to mount though but well worth it.

What if you’re trekking far out and puncture it? Is it still repairable like a regular tube?

I'm still a tube guy so this is interesting. I've got about 40 tubes to work through 1st though.

Think it would easier to install it like a Tublisss system. Put it on the rim, fit the whole thing in the tire and then seat each side.

So, it weighs a lot more than a mousse and still has the possibility of flats. Lose/lose. No thanks.

It surely looks interesting but... It's very expensive very heavy and you can still get a flat right off your garage!!! It's more durable than a mousse and you can adjust the pressure, that's the positive things! Thanks for the video though!

No safety glasses while around flying aluminum chips..... I bet Ray doesn't bother with a helmet either.
