@@repauley007 Hello: Yes, the Vortex will accommodate all of those mods. If you are a trail rider, you might consider leaving in the reeds for better and smoother low-end throttle response

I just bought a 2024 XW-F 500, what is the difference between it and the EXC-F 500 model, to me it just looks like the street legal add ons, but google says the XW-F 500 has 39.5HP and the EXC-F 500 has 64HP.

You didn't mention if you had to add or subtract any chain links when you went to 15 front setup or back to the 14 setup. I just put 13/49 back on my 2016 500 and like it better than the 14/50 or 14/48, mainly for trails. Don't care to go past 60 on any highway anyway so I gear for dirt riding. 14/48 seems a little throttle sensitive to me on trails and 14/50 not bad but still a little tall, 13/50 was pretty good to a little short for the power the 500 has. It is all about personal preference.

Stupid question, If you make a map with medium/high traction control and upload it to the bike do you still need to press the button on the handlebar for traction control?

Nice video Jeff. I work in aerospace and every multi-bearing joint, doesn't matter what its for (a control surface, a cargo door, landing gear, etc.), has one bearing location that acts as the anchor point. The other joints float to account for tolerances. On big assemblies, with lots of bearings (attach points), the tolerance stackup can be significant and cause binding as the mechanism travels through it's range. Exactly the same as the front forks/wheel. Two attach points, one is the anchor (the bake side because it's close to the rotor) the other is the floating to account for assembly buildup. Of course the "floating" side here gets clamped up after the free state position is determined but it's exactly the same concept.
Thanks Jeff! I’ve got fresh tires and Tubliss set up landing sometime this week from y’all. I had a old Pitbull stand that doesn’t fit any of my current bikes, I was going to order a tire balancer but I’ll just stop by the hardware store and spend 7 bucks on a steel tube to put in between the arms! Thanks for all you do.

On the new enduro bikes with the XACT CC can you pull a preload spacer out of the fork to adjust preload? Great Vid thx!
@slaverace18 күн бұрын
Hello: Yes you can but why? The preload is set correctly at the factory.
@grutzmac8 күн бұрын
@@slaverace1 because on paper the spring rate is perfect, I'm 180 with gear. I want a little more SAG and a 4.2nm spring would likely be too much of a drop. How would adjusting the preload internally be any different than adjusting it with a aftermarket preload adjuster cap? Thanks!
@slaverace18 күн бұрын
@@grutzmac Hello: The spring rate, spring preload and sag are correct from the factory. They are in balance when purchased new. What you are considering will make it unbalanced, BUT it is your bike so do what you wish.
@grutzmac8 күн бұрын
@@slaverace1 similar to your video mentions, I want to back the rear spring off a 1/4 turn because I want to the bike to sit a little deeper in the travel and use more of it. I have the damping pretty dialed and the HSC nearly backed all the way out. I'm right on the cusp between spring rates, always have been. I don't want to do this without adjusting the preload in the front, because the bike is balanced. I haven't touched it, because I understand this and balance is most important to my ride, then sag, then travel usage, then damping. THanks

Well done, Jeff, thanks for using your bully pulpit to get an important message out! Most of us dirt bikers like to think of ourselves as tough guys, many of us don't like to see doctors. My Dad was a Marine and a tough guy, didn't like doctors. Prostate cancer killed him. I don't think that needed to happen.

Thanks for posting this personal video as it may save someone's life. Along with prostate cancer, colon cancer is an avoidable issue that affects more and more people. Fortunately there is a blood test for colon cancer now as the colonoscopy is a bit of an ordeal to go through. I lost my older brother at age 58 to colon cancer because he waited until he was Stage 4 to go in to see the doctor and he refused to have a colonoscopy and the blood test didn't exist back then. 62 here, finally retired from the corporate hamster stress wheel, and working as an independent consultant, healthy and at a good stage in life. I like this season in my life and want to live and ride as long as I can. 100% on annual physicals which include blood work. Just do it. Jeff is direct as he always is: "ya can't ride if your dead" 😂

I like Sx model better than all these and yes even for hard enduro clutch pops double blips etc. all the 24 250/300sx need is a cheap clutch weight + 13-52 sprockets and change the rear hoop to an 18inch. They fix most of Sticky issue with AER fork and just run that fork at 95psi for hard enduro stuff. If you are 175+ the stock rear spring is fine too just read the manual adjust shock to “comfort settings” if you are lighter then a 39-whatever WP spring will suit you nicely. I have tried both the xc and xc-w and still like the SX better the response is crispy and better.

I've always been extremely fit and healthy for my 58 years of living and 54 years of riding. I've been off the dirtbike for 14 months and counting due to random and sudden major eye related issues, not cancer or injuries. Detached retina both eyes 6 months apart. Reality check that body parts can and do wear out. I'll be scheduling full health assessment. Thanks for the nudge.
