I'm about to use that foam on mine...how well does it work?

It's been 2 years and it's worked flawlessly. It actually got bumped at one point and I drove a couple wedges of wood between the foam and the ground and it took care of the wobble. I highly recommend it for mailbox installation.

How is the expansion foam holding up?
@Obscuremotorsports3 жыл бұрын
It's been about a year and its holding up great! no signs of wobble or movement. My neighbor hit my mailbox a couple months ago (and then didn't tell me). It loosen the dirt up a little and started wobbling. I made a few wooden wedges and hammered them into the ground between the foam and the dirt and it became solid again. Still would recommend.

Do you think normal expanding spray foam would work just as well?
@Obscuremotorsports3 жыл бұрын
If you're talking about the stuff in a can, I'd say nope. The post stuff is works in a very different way and is much better suited for this application.

Cool...just like the commercial... but it's always better seeing things put to use in the "real world".

I was really impressed with it. I was scared at first. After 15 minute the post still wobbled a good bit. But by end of me recording the bit in front of the camera and starting to back fill it had another 15 minutes to set and after 30 minutes it had no wobble or movement at all.

I wish you lived in my area because a Fedex truck hit my wooden post in late December 2022 and letters to Fedex corporate offices about what one of their drivers did to my mailbox have gone unanswered. I'm too old to try and replace the post myself. What kind of a guy would do that kind of work? A general contractor or a #DIYG? Did the foam product work as good as concrete mix? Good video by the way.

The foam product has been amazing. My mailbox has been bumped twice so far. The foam actually compresses absorbing the hit instead of anything breaking. I hammered some pressure treated wedged between the foam and the dirt and its solid again. I highly recommend it for mailboxes. If your fine with a store bought post I would recommend looking for a GC. Maybe ask hardscape or landscape builders. People that pour patios, and walkways, etc. good luck!
