What is it with You Tube video makers and the music they insert into their videos? Often, it sounds like music made by a evil scientist who hates people, hiding out in some abandoned factory in the wastelands of Detroit, Mich. It's such a misery to experience the music these guys choose. They seem to think it lends a professional touch to the video. They don't understand that it's an annoyance to the viewer who has to deal with it each time they click on a video. The viewer has to bother with clicking the mute button and search where, in the video, the music stops and the information begins. But in some videos, the music never stops. Ahhhhhh....... And it's so pathetic realizing that the video maker probably searched for just the right piece of music for his video, thinking it rescues the video from be boring. Information is not boring, and these video makers might best have confidence in the viewer who clicked on the video because they are eager for information, not annoying music.

What is it with people on the internet, enjoying free content that someone else put effort in. What is it with people on KZbin expecting professional grade content from some amateur that does shit for a hobby. What is it with people being offended by having to put up with someone elses creative decisions...man I get you, people on the internet suck :D

@@woodandstuff - Thank you for your insight, but my complaint is that the amateur is trying to be professional, and it is his downfall. Just put out the information and stop torturing the viewer with extremely bad music. This is called feed back from the public. Do you imply that all feedback should only be positive? If the video makers are making a mistake, we should not inform them of the mistake?

2:04, bothers me that the end of the face of the vise is not flush with both sides. Guessing you weren't able to mount that plate to the opposite side of what supports it without losing some inches on your vise. Different strokes for different folks..

Picking the appropriate woodwork plans is a decisive step to stay away from failure, so be certain to grab the ones that are prepared by professionals.

+Matilda Burkitt I constructed this workbench myself and hey: failures are there to learn from :D (regarding the screws for fixating the vise: I calculated for shearing and bending and those screws are really oversized lol)

I wouldn't have used split firewood, when it's split, it causes stress and cracks in the wood fibers, as you can plainly see in the end grain.

How wide is this vice? How much space did you leave from the corner of the vice to the left end of the working bench?

@woodandstuff
@woodandstuff 7 жыл бұрын
Is it the same design as my vise? You could try to in-set the whole thing from the bottom. Or you could just leave it on the lower plane of your workbench and add jaws with the appropriate height. Thanks for the comment!

This may sound like a dumb question, but did this come with the mechanical fasteners or were those purchased separately
@frosty9392
@frosty9392 8 жыл бұрын
for what ever reason 99.99% of vises seem to come without any actual fasteners. you always ahve to have/buy your own

haha I know right? The workbench and vise videos I made have by far the most views :D . Anyways, I think that constructing and building a workbench by hand taught me a lot. For my metal working area the tables and stuff are going to be much simpler designed. Thanks for the comment!

Just watched a video from Paul Sellers that has a lot of good reasons not to flush mount your vise to your bench. This kind of vise was never intended to be flush mounted.
@emm_arr
@emm_arr 3 жыл бұрын
I saw that too - and followed the Paul Sellers approach. I can always use a spacer block and a sash clamp if I need a flush-mount equivalent.

This is a great wood working book, “pepe amazing plan” (Google it). I`m a graduate of a one-year carpentry course from a local tech college. Of all books I`ve read during my study about carpentry, I do think this is the ideal book I`ve read so far. It explains everything concerning wood working as well as complements it with helpful pictures.
